🥳 A big thank you to everyone who took part in our Heartlands Abseil a few weeks ago. 🙌 Over £20,000 was raised by the incredible supporters who braved the height and abseiled to fundraise for a huge range of projects across Heartlands Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital. 🫶Staff from across our hospitals were some of the first to sign up to take on the challenge. The seven members of staff from the Heartlands Hospital and Good Hope Children’s Emergency Department banded together to raise £2,800. Maria Kenny, Paediatric Emergency Department Matron, said “Taking part in the charity abseil wasn’t just about conquering a fear of heights or ticking an item off a bucket list, it was about us all giving back to departments that gives so much, every single day. Our paediatric teams are a lifeline for children and families during some of their most vulnerable moments. “We’ve all witnessed the resilience of children facing illness, the quiet strength of their parents, and the compassion of the staff who care for them. This abseil was a way to honour that courage. This abseil will help towards better resources, improved facilities, and little things that make a big difference, like toys, equipment that eases treatment, and spaces that feel a bit more like home.” 💙 If these incredible fundraisers have inspired you to take on your own challenge, or support a cause that matters to you, we have another abseil this year that you can still sign up to. Our ladies last night came up against a strong and experienced @JMGAABrum and unfortunately were beaten. This is a young group of girls and they are the first women’s football team we have fielded in 15 years and they will undoubtedly get stronger ☘️ #eringobragh #ladiesgaa

2 things have been bothering me for a while + I’m definitely going to fix them after the pandemic: 1. wHY DO PEOPLE LEAVE THE KEYBOARD ON CAPS LOCK IN EVERY ED? 2. Why are the staff toilets out of action 50% of the time due to people flushing paper towels? I’ll keep you posted

As an NHS worker!!! I am Very disappointed with #sportsdirect stood in queue this evening at #bentleybridge along with others as far back as Argos to be told by another customer they had closed the store early. 17:30hrs clearly stating 6pm on door
