@DrZedZha My daughter has it. It’s horrendous. 2.5 years to be diagnosed. It was during Covid tbf. 2 years after that for her not to be in constant pain. Well done you but so sorry to hear the outcome ref insurance. Thank god we’re in the UK. Free healthcare

It took me an entire year to get a patient's Hidradenitis Suppurativa under control. We both cried when she finally got better. When I graduated, she ran across the parking lot to hug and thank me. Yesterday, I learned the nationwide Medicaid disenrollment dropped her insurance in Texas. She is now without her medications. This WILL devastate her and her health. Today, along with her new doctor, we wrote a joint letter with citations and genuine emotions pleading to get her coverage back. Can we, or can we not, take care of people?

@RoseUnwin Probably my greatest fear and I have a fantastic extended family. Our experience shows that many disabled adults do not have this level of support for a multitude of reasons. It’s so worrying

For those of you who don’t have disabled kids: it’s the fear of them being abandoned which really hurts. And that abandonment is so close, just around the corner, in fact. This is why I wrote my play: all our children are all our responsibility. 🙏
