She showed the bruised, stitched, swollen reality of buying back 20 years of youth. ​Her reason: She said she feels 12 inside, but the mirror stopped matching. ​Society demands women age gracefully, but completely ignores them when they do. ​So, is it better to fade out naturally, or pay the toll to recognize yourself in the mirror again?

“I’m not dying for Israel” is even worse than it sounds. (1) It buys into the “Jews control the world” mental illness. (2) It implies that Israel is not worth fighting for. (3) It accuses those supporting the war of being traitors to the U.S. (4) It suggests that true patriotism is showing contempt for a nation fighting shoulder to shoulder with us, a nation whose civilians are uniquely under constant attack from our enemy. (5) It is cowardly, pretending that you’re at risk when you’re actually sipping a latte 6000 miles away while Israelis huddle in bomb shelters. Am I missing anything?

The average woman is not a slim teenage woman with a model face. She’s size 14-18, 35-55, without access to hair extensions, surgery, and elaborate skincare. That’s a 5. That’s why you sound so batshit insane to those of us who go outside.

@TheLaurenChen Gluttony is a sin that can’t be hidden. Even if someone is able to binge and then purge, it can only be a secret for so long.

At one point in college, I had an obese roommate. After a few weeks, she complained about how lucky I was to be thin, since I ate more than her. The thing is, however, that I absolutely did not eat more than her, in terms of calories or just amount of food. She put ranch on everything. 600 calorie drinks. Endless snacking. Maybe my plate was more full than hers at dinner, but it was obvious tp everyone but her that she was consuming more throughout the day. I'm sorry, but after multiple instances of this happening with other overweight people, I just don't trust when someone heavy insists they're in caloric deficit. Maybe some people lose weight faster than others. For sure. But it's simple science that if calories out exceed calories in, you WILL lose weight.
