Memories
In my early 20's I was a visiting nurse out of the Bleeker Street office in NYC in the early 1970s,
I met patients with numbered tattoos on their arms, but none spoke of what they suffered.
I was however treated to sage advice, Yiddish sayings, and food.
It was only years later that I realized what I witnessed.
People who endured great suffering but their love of humankind did not falter.
I still have my badge and the memories.
I will never forget.
Be well.
