Does anybody know the roadmap for Oracle Directory, the TNS registration repository, and the Oracle Cloud? Is there any future plan to support Autonomous Databases to talk with OID, OUD, or any other directory service to reference the enterprise TNS repository? EUS? Or it's done?

@MarisDBA @FranckPachot @OracleDatabase No, I wanted the "count(*)". It is easier to deal with the result. Just a number. And I think the STOPKEY option will prevent scanning the index fully.

Let's start a small brainstorm on something that looks easy from user point of view: you want a fast query to know if an @oracledatabase table is empty (=has no rows). How would you do it?

@phsalvisberg @FranckPachot @OracleDatabase Sure, in many cases an index could be picked automatically. My point was one should make sure an index is used, which may require a little help depending on the situtation. Btw, your query the “count(*)” would cause a scan of the whole index, you likely wanted just a “*”?

@MarisDBA @FranckPachot @OracleDatabase Well, if there is PK index or an index on a not null column then it will be used automatically by "select count(*) from t where rownum = 1".

@myoraclesupport @tmmdv @Oracle I wasn’t aware that downloads of patches has been simplified, will check tomorrow, this used to be really hard (see @MarisDBA getmospatch script). However, anything NOT a patch cannot be downloaded, like all regular installation media. That is a significant part/the majority.

. @myoraclesupport web site is worse than an undergrad project. If you open patch download page for 2 patches sequentially, you get a link to download last opened patch. If you click 2 links quickly, you get 2nd patch in both tabs. Hello @Oracle it's 2020 I need more tabs
