@TaraSlone @sportsrage The only thing more unconsionable is hiring John Chayka to report to a media CEO as GM of the Maple Leafs. In a room full of Rogers “journalists” you all want to cry about the only tough question posed to anyone running that organization for the last 2 decades.

I am all for asking the difficult questions when necessary. But there is a way to address hard topics without being so nasty and offensive. You want to spout off like that, save it for your column. Unconscionable behavior IMO.

@NewLeafs2016 @davidalter Simmons used the words others provided to him. Every hire for the last 12 years came with no media push back. Ask yourself why SO MANY are speaking out. The guy has already been looked at for tampering ffs and its only been 24 hours

@Maritimer_ @davidalter Simmons used to work for Pelley at TSN. I was disappointed his show was cancelled a few years back... interesting connection there. I am not in favor of the hiring, but I don't think calling the guy names was really called for.

KP's last tire fire presser he went on about the need for structure. He danced around it, but finally he did say "John is the head hockey operations, and Matt's has a role within hockey operations" That says to me, Mats reports to John who reports to KP. Clear as mud as anwered.

No. How can you not see this? When you do this, you annoy, anger, and upset a segment of fans who support NXT. And you know what they turn around and do? Take it out on the person you complimented bedside they dislike you or what you said. Is that fair to the person you complimented? Usually you do this to adults and I either leave it alone or message you privately about it. But this time you did it to a 14 year old kid. Now there will be a corner of the internet that will always hold what YOU said against HIM. I respect your work and contributions to the industry more than most. But be better Dave. Stop tearing down the young men and women trying to learn their craft and get better in front of a global television audience. And for goodness sake, learn to compliment a 14 year old young man without making things harder for him.

I'm not bothered by AEW running Forbidden Door against TNA and Slammiversary. For one thing they're on completely opposite sides of America. Second, they're going for different audiences. TNA is clearly more about casuals these days while AEW still goes for the hardcore.

On a functioning team w/ proper systems/coaching, Roy's proven to be a 15-goal, 35-40 pt, 6'3, right-shot C. But I’m learning from the online response to this trade that people really love 29th-overall draft picks.

As one team exec said to me this morning, it's definitely a sellers' market right now. Prices are sky high for the buyers. Not an over abundance of players available, either.
