Only days after receiving the @AASLDtweets Travel Award to attend and present my research at the Emerging Topic Conference in Las Vegas, I’m deeply honored to share that two of my abstracts have also been accepted for presentation at the Digestive Disease Week @DDWMeeting in Chicago, May 2–5. I will be presenting work that highlights: • Disparities in Gastroenterology and Hepatology clinical trials in Sub-Saharan Africa • The association between large vessel vasculitis (LVV) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) These projects reflect themes I care passionately about — advancing global hepatology and ensuring that patients in underrepresented regions are not invisible in research. As a first-year resident, moments like this feel surreal. DDW will mark my fifth external academic outing this year — culminating in: • 5 national presentations • 10+ posters • 2 awards (so far) Blessed to be a part of the genuinely supportive @OBHBrookdaleIM family. Competitive behaviour is the hallmark of success. Where there’s competition, there is no equal treatment. You get treated according to the amount of value you provide. And you live by that. Even when you’re at the bottom. No to other people’s demands. Unless your boss demands you to do something you are responsible for, no one else has the authority to demand you to do anything. This will differ on the degree of power/leverage others hold over you. No to the uncommitted. You’re committed in everything you do; the purpose you pick, the woman you choose, the routine you structure. You don’t associate with men who flail around with zero commitment to anything. No to agreeableness. Your ability to confront is the difference between your oppression and liberty. Don’t tolerate. Speak up, and face the consequences of speaking up. No to group think. You must have the ability to think for yourself. Just because you oppose the left does not mean you are anti-herd mentality. Being part of the right is just being a part of another flock of sheep. No to selflessness. If you want to help anyone, you come first. You HAVE to be selfish first before being selfless. If you choose to be selfless first, then resentment will corner you. In any case, you come first.

i have no desire to be rich so i can buy a lambo or birkins. I want to be rich so I can control my time and go to the gym at 2 pm on a wednesday. sit at a cafe and relax for an hour on a rainy afternoon. so I can cook meals at home with fresh ingredients. spend on my family and friends without worrying about a budget. that’s my idea of a rich life, not the fake consumerist idea shoved down my throat.
