i know it's never going to happen, but it would have been good just once to hear this Potus say "of course i'm disappointed with the tariff decision, but one of the things that makes America great is our system of checks & balances and the independence of our highest court.

@GabrielSterling How many times has this Supreme Court been in a position to push back against executive overreach- but hasn't? Hundreds. ONE decision pushing back doesn't reverse that trend.

With the 6-3 decision against the Trump tariffs, I think we will wait to hear the apology from so many on the Left saying that SCOTUS is a rubber stamp for the Administration. I think we will be waiting a long time for that acknowledgment.

@AlanMCole I think the plan originally was trying to create new revenue sources to pay for increased investment in the newsroom. That's easier said than done at this point though. The obvious adjacencies are pretty crowded these days.

Newspapers may be the clearest example of a cost–quality trap: budget cuts directly degrade the product, which erodes demand so much that it leaves the finances no better off. The WaPo might just lose $100 mil/year at every level of spending.
