It’s time to remember that we cannot simply fight evil by railing against it. We need to appeal to the imagination and the feelings of all those who are searching for solutions. The solutions are all around us: the potential supporters for the solutions are too!@Tomorrows_co

This is the pattern of civilian slaughter to which most of us seem to have become indifferent.Civilian deaths on this scale cannot be justified as self defence.

Palestinian lady is powerless to stop the demolition of her family home as the illegal settlers move in… Netanyahu has ordered the demolition of over 3,500 Palestinian homes that will be used for settlements… We are witnessing a genocide…🇵🇸💔

Given that the UK a) has ALWAYS regarded the West Bank & Gaza as illegally occupied by Israel and b) we have ALWAYS, under every government, supported a Two State Solution, what conceivable excuse can @DavidLammy & @Keir_Starmer produce for abstaining on this motion in the face of all sane readings of International Law? What is this strange urge to back Ben Gvir & Netanyahu in their war crimes and slaughter of Palestinians? Do you both really wish the indigenous people of the West Bank to be wiped out or ethnically cleansed? Because that is exactly the endgame that British policy is heading towards. This is an utter disgrace at any time. Under a Labour Government its even more unforgivable. UN members back resolution directing Israel to leave occupied territories. General assembly votes overwhelmingly in favour of Palestinian resolution after ICJ ruling in July theguardian.com/world/2024/sep…

The Most Moral Army continues daily to commit war crimes & break the Geneva Conventions with impunity; the West continues to pour in military aid as if Palestinians don't count as human beings. Appalling, hypocritical & completely unacceptable. on.ft.com/475dT74 via @FT

Extremely wicked, shockingly evil and vile. Every day more unspeakable war crimes committed by Israel. As a jew, I have nothing but contempt and disgust for the evil being done in Gaza. #Israel #Gaza #Palestine

A lot of people have noticed a change in my tone towards this war in the last couple of weeks. They are correct. I have completely lost faith in it. Two issues led to this: 1) The unwillingness of the Israeli government to actually have a plan to win the war. That by definition makes the violence senseless. The use of force is only permissible with a clear and achievable goal, and Israel has simply decided not to have one. I supported the war as long as I thought Hamas could be replaced as the Gaza government. That is clearly not the goal. At this point I see no purpose for all the death and carnage. 2) The admission from my friends in the IDF and Israeli government that they knew about Sde Teiman and lied about it. When I put that alongside the large amount of pictures coming out of Gaza of IDF soldiers out of control, and the clear evidence of the use of human shields by the military, it has become clear that Israel is not waging this war morally. I continue to love my country and hope that it can regain security. But clearly, this government and this war are not achieving that. Therefore, the best outcome for Israel is to end this war, get back the hostages, and replace this government. If a war must be waged against Hamas, Iran and Hezbollah, it should be waged by a competent and moral government able to craft clear war aims. Just because you love your country, doesn't mean you have to support everything it does.
