Idiot, father, space nut, loves retro. Have a beautiful daughter, therefore nothing else matters. Anything I say should be taken with a bucket of salt!

@archer_rs Umm, close enough? Gutted for England (and Ireland) after a sterling performance.

@AffinityWater @HertsPolice Thanks for the update Holly. I did ask for email updates to my reports, which never arrived, and if this information had been communicated to me, and in you online information, then time could have been saved. Also, hopefully you are liaising with @thameswater.

@MarkHarper99 @HertsPolice Good morning, Thank you for reporting this leak, we have attended this on the 14th of January 2026 and found that it is not coming from our mains and the leak is coming from a drainage cover, so this would be down to Thames Water to fix, thank you. - Holly

Please @AffinityWater, a leak was reported under Leak122981 and was deemed as not a leak! Due to the rain and a large amount of water escaping, the road is now basically closed with stranded cars and @HertsPolice soon in attendance. Reported again under Leak123121.

@metoffice Hate it. Looks like you hired Fisher Price to design it! The useful data is missing. If this is about accessibility then users can change their device settings so it doesn't affect the rest of us. Such a dumb decision to change it that much.

@AJamesMcCarthy Looking to get up to 250m with clear ESE horizon view in the southwest UK for 1939 moonrise, and hope for no cloud. Looking good at the moment. No special equipment but gonna try a few phone tricks. Looking forward to all the great shots posted.

The eclipse starts in ~90 min. At first it’ll barely be noticeable, as only the outer portion of Earth’s shadow (penumbra). The real show begins once the umbra begins to pass across the moon’s face about an hour later. If it is night for you during this period, you can see it!

I am posting only this. I have just returned from Israel, I had business meetings with people from the various communities there Jewish, Muslim and Christian. Almost everything you are being told about Gaza by the Western media is innacurate. #Gaza #Israel

@TheMurkyDepths Sorry, but glad we moved from Kidbrooke. Bringing up a 5 year old is hard enough, but this is something I don't want to her to endue, amongst many other things. It's sad, because I miss Greenwich and what it can offer.

If you're wondering why Greenwich traffic is even heavier than usual right now it's because the A2 is partially blocked, and with two tunnels now feeding onto the same roads south of the river predictable miles-long jams ensue. Always a big flaw with Silvertown tunnel

Have you ever spotted the mysterious 'pointless' bollards of King's Cross? One of those trivial little details that, once you're aware of them, you'll want to point out to others londonist.com/2011/04/the-my…

Fact of the Day: The famous B17 "Enola Gay" has been renamed to fit in with DEI guidelines. "Enola LGBTQ+" was the first fighter jet to drop a 8008.5 kiloton semi-nuclear bomb on Bradford (Lancashire) during WW1 on the 31st Feb 1926 Photographed from a Canberra

@Cathrinmachin This was 2007 with a relatively good digital bridge camera (zoomed after taken). Still chuffed with it, thought might try and enhance one day.

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas. This year has been quite a struggle for me, with ill-health affecting my ability to work on photos as much as I hoped. My output's greatly reduced & yet your support has remained enthusiastic & positive. For that I sincerely thank you! I hope 2025 will be a more productive and much brighter year. Thank you for your patience & support. Merry Christmas x

@TheMurkyDepths I agree. But ironically I've just watch Jago Hazzard's new video on YouTube about this. Opinions vary😉

Few do it but I'm coming to the defence of the Cable Car again. Much good for commuting? No. Good for much else? Oh yes. Popular with tourists, often heaving, has more users than pre-pandemic, makes TfL money and cheap for even occasional users. fromthemurkydepths.co.uk/2024/11/26/in-…

@TheMurkyDepths I've only ever used it once to get to the ExCel and several other times with my young daughter who loves it and treats it like a rollercoaster. Personally, no other need. Found out about the 10 trip ticket from you too late, as we've now move away.
