Do preparers really care if people sign 8879s by 4/15? As long as I provided vouchers by 4/15, it is up to the client at that point. I extend everyone who signs an engagement letter to preserve the ability to supersede. Who cares if the return actually gets filed 4/15?

Yea hun I’ll be right there it’s just that every day we operate under this arbitrary but very real time deadline of 4pm ET so that trades can get placed and then it’s T+1 settlement which is Monday 4/13 and then 4/15 tax deadline is on Wednesday and sometimes people need us to transfer funds to their bank account first which is also T+1 unless you same-day wire and people sometimes don’t sign things so there’s another day delay and
