This is an awesome use of AI: debugging an exception your application is throwing.
@poppastring and @shanselman is showing this capability right in @VisualStudio!

Always fun to talk about my favorite subject - how to improve the quality of life for developers.
Thanks to @FilishaShah, @spboyer, and Roshanak for joining me & many folks behind the scenes that made it happen - including @isaacrlevin!

@VS_Debugger Wow! Looking forward to see it in action.
Feedback: Could your team post the actual video instead of the gif on X? GIF video can't be zoomed.

Say goodbye to debugging headaches!
When errors strike and exceptions are thrown, Copilot swoops into the rescue. It crafts insightful questions using precise Visual Studio data, making debugging a breeze.

@ilGianfri @Simizfo Thanks Alessandro! Would love to hear cases where it's helped you out :-) - share a screenshot?

@Simizfo Copilot chat right in Visual Studio is also amazing

This.
I can't believe how my workflow has improved, I almost never get stuck anymore in problems that used to take hours to be solved.
If you told me two years ago that this would be a thing today, I'd never believe it

Programming alongside GPT-4 has changed my life. If you aren't developing every day with an @OpenAI tab open, you're missing out on what it feels like to never be stuck on a technical problem again.

@MarkPavWT @GitHubCopilot @VisualStudio Here is a file with 50+ properties for example, such a boring task can be done in 5s

@b1t_zer0 @GitHubCopilot @VisualStudio Thanks for the clarification - and watch this space; we're working on being able to generate into a new file too :-)
English

@MarkPavWT @GitHubCopilot @VisualStudio The main scenerio I had was creating unit tests, I like the chat window version much more because it gives you the option to copy and paste / create a new file. The inline version wants to overwrite your selected code.

@AhmadMozaffar99 @GitHubCopilot @VisualStudio That's great to hear! If you're able can you share an example screengrab with us so we can see how it's doing? And do let us know how we can improve further :-)
English

@MarkPavWT @GitHubCopilot @VisualStudio This feature is awesome
I tried it today with C++ and it’s magical
English

@b1t_zer0 @GitHubCopilot @VisualStudio There's a history during the refinement session - but we are also thinking about allowing you to promote an inline chat to the chat window if you want to preserve it - can you help us understand scenarios you'd want to do that Rick?
English

@MarkPavWT @GitHubCopilot @VisualStudio While I do like this feature, the biggest problem I have with it is it does not maintain the history like the standard chat window.
