If you’re struggling to quit porn, your problem isn’t willpower. It’s that you’re living a life you feel the need to escape from in the first place. When approached correctly, quitting porn becomes a rite of passage for the modern man - a crucible that burns away shame and dysfunction while forging clarity, self-command, and spiritual alignment. I’ve been doing this work since 2013, developing a comprehensive system from real-world coaching and thousands of case studies. If you want to explore the full framework for free, click the link in my bio.

WHY CHRISTIAN MEN SUCK AT QUITTING PORN Five problems holding us back I quit porn 8 years ago after being stuck for 25. My mentor @MarkQueppet coached thousands of men—and noticed something strange: Non-Christians quit more easily than Christians. That shouldn’t be possible. The church has been warning about porn for decades. While the world was still spouting nonsense about it being healthy and normal, we were bringing serious tools to the fight: Faith in God, an unshakeable affirmation of human dignity, a clarion call to holiness, the wisdom of the Scriptures, a forgiving community willing to sacrifice to help others, and a commitment to redemption proved over and over in the lives of millions who’ve hit rock bottom with addictions like drugs and alcohol. Christians should be dominating porn recovery. We tried. Churches formed programs, accountability groups, and support networks. And yet, when the secular porn recovery movement finally took off in the 2010s (@YourBrainOnPorn, @NoFap), they leapfrogged us. One reason was the science. The non-religious guys knew they didn’t have all the answers, and so were open to discovering new things. Insights about the Coolidge effect, flatlines, triggers, dopamine, the cadence of cravings, Delta FosB, chaser effects, porn-induced ED, and the 90-day reboot were all hugely helpful. But Christian porn-recovery efforts are fast absorbing these insights. Our real issue is more insidious: We’re weak on masculinity. And for most Christian guys who struggle, porn is a masculinity problem. I say this as someone who tried everything the church offered for 25 years—Including 15 years of marriage. And then, when given the correct tools and framework, shot to freedom in 90 days. That won’t be the path for every man. But it reveals a massive blind spot. I truly believe revitalizing a Christian masculine ethos is the missing piece that will give many lifelong freedom from porn. Right now the secular recovery movements have big missing pieces too. If we fix this weakness, the power of the gospel can finally flow into a place where the world is in real pain. And men will change—bringing their wives, children, families, communities, and nations along with them. In this thread, I’ll look at five ways our unmasculine approach hamstrings efforts to quit porn. And I’ll show how correcting it isn’t a distraction from our faith, but rather a vital part of our Christian witness.

@StrengthDebates Yeah. Solution is to do 'em one legged and it's much easier. Also think you actually can actually hit the muscle better by sort of flaring to the side a bit.

Barbell hip thrusts I think everyone goes down the same road ➕They start them ➕Posts a couple videos with big weight ➕Realizes how inefficient the set up is ➕Stops seeing progress ➕Stops using them Is this accurate??

@GiffLasta The low IQ person drawn to atheism likes to believe their "rational" choice to reject the idea of God somehow precludes them from being retarded.

Quitting porn isn't really that hard... unless you misunderstand this critical piece.

I wouldn't say they are better at overcoming addiction as a whole (in fact, they probably do less well with drugs if I had to guess) - they just seem to be able to do the required work to quit porn with less internal struggle if they are committed to doing it. It's not a massive advantage, but I've seen it enough to believe it's there.

Maybe - why atheists are better at overcoming addiction? For them, sex is just a normal, everyday thing, like diet or recreational drugs, so the addiction itself doesn’t carry any great spiritual or sacred significance. For them, it’s not some kind of status symbol, no great sin; no big thing, so overcoming it isn’t some ritual of passion or other such nonsense, but simply an unhealthy habit, like the slightly more difficult addiction such as eating fast food or smoking cigarettes. Thanks to this, they can maintain their dignity, have no shame, and guild, they probably also find it easier to satisfy their urges with an occasional one-night stand, or a prostitute, or they might even use porn once in a while, without big threat of falling into a cycle. You build this grand, lofty structure around quitting, so every stumble, every fall, every time you can’t handle something in life, immediately becomes a massive catastrophe leading guys back into addiction?🤔🤷

My former mentor @MarkQueppet translates Christian anthropology into actionable self improvement like no one else. He’ll take some truth you’ve heard a million times, and teach you how to weaponize it with brass tacks specifics. Follow him.

The problem is that most Christians don't actually understand God's love. They are obsessed with their "spiritual report card" and get caught in this nasty shame spiral around a conditional sense of worth. They tend to collapse every time they lose their "good boy points."

Do you think Christian men are WORSE at quitting porn than non-Christian men? @MarkQueppet and @JohnHaskinsJr have observed this. @proverbs519man has seen the opposite. What do you think?

The Vatican is sitting on the Michelangelo of porn recovery and masculine resurgence with @MarkQueppet in their ranks. @Pontifex should take a note from Pope Julius II and commission him! (Maybe treat him a little better than Julius did our favorite Buonarroti...)
Mark Queppet@MarkQueppet

The Vatican should have a multimillion dollar department dedicated to helping people quit porn. Instead, we get 3 Hail Mary's at penance and maybe some commiserating that goes nowhere in a men's prayer group.

I know people claim it's debunked, but it makes my hair thin. I go on, hair thins, go off, it comes back with minoxidil. I know at least two other guys personally that this happens to and there's a lot of anecdotal support for it if you check the forums. But according to the studies it's totally disproven. So there's that at least.

@StrengthDebates What do you think then of drop sets, where you hit failure at one weight and keep lowering it immediately after? Technically it allows to extend the window of being near failure much longer, but the tension goes down.

This is a great point and wanted to share my thoughts 3x10=30 reps 10x3=30 reps Low reps offer the same time spread across more sets except with MUCH HIGHER tension
Mark Queppet@MarkQueppet

@StrengthDebates Thought time under tension mattered a lot too? Personally though (especially on bigger movements) I've moved to more emom style training w/ heavier loads. Seems to allow for the best of both worlds.
