Is there REALLY any benefit to chest compressions in a pulseless trauma patient? I don’t mean “maybe he had a heart attack & crashed his car” You can’t make the pump work if all the blood is gone… and compressions interfere with the other things you need to do! #wta2024

@MarkSeamonMD So Mark, combining your data with ours & @TopKniFe_B, what I see is that aggressive resuscitation of these patients, but not performing EDT, will produce a small # of survivors (some with decent long term outcome per your data) & a reasonable # of organ donors.

Yes, this is why it is so rare….ineffective for this injury/physiology. The often discussed 2010 LAC series: 3/258 EDT organ donors….none of those 3 had cranial GSW #EAST2024
