There is a weird thing these days for me and my Muslim and Arab friends. Every day we wake up to photos of dead children on our phones. And every night we scroll through more. Literally. And then we go on with our days because that's what we're supposed to do.

“You can say Fred is crazy-good,” says Brightspark’s Sophie Forest, about the Globe’s innovator of the year pick, Hopper CEO Fred Lalonde. “But you can also say he’s crazy, comma, good.” Read my in-depth feature on the founder of the $5b co for more ⬇️ theglobeandmail.com/business/rob-m…

@GretaThunberg As a long time admirer of yours, this is very disappointing. I'm not disappointed that you stand up for civilians in Gaza. But some balance by condemning Hamas and screaming about their holding Israeli civilian hostages would be appreciated. Condemning Hamas is not anti-Palestine

@TrueNorthCentre Jagmeet: What you say about international law is appropriate and Canada asking for accountability is reasonable. But please don't talk to Israel or Jewish people about genocide. We know all about genocide and I think you should choose your words more carefully.

Eitan Kaptisher was buried yesterday with no family member to mourn him. His parents and siblings were all slaughtered by Hamas. Eitan was murdered on his 5th birthday.

I spoke with Mahmoud Abbas, the President of the Palestinian Authority, today. I condemned Hamas’ attack against Israel, discussed the importance of protecting Palestinian and Israeli civilians, and stressed the need to ensure humanitarian access to Palestinian civilians.

As many of you know, on Saturday I posted about my cousin's niece, Adi Kaplon-Vital, who'd been abducted from her home in Israel and was missing. Last night we received terrible news. Adi was murdered by Hamas. Adi was a mother of two young children. To have her life ended by terrorists has been devastating to her family, and mine. As a family and a Jewish community, we're obviously all in mourning. And what makes that process so much harder is the media culture we're living in. To see people celebrate terrorism and try to justify the brutal kidnapping and murder of innocent women and men, children, babies, and the elderly has made me wonder whether the whole world has gone mad. Human tragedy is human tragedy. It doesn't matter your nationality, religion, or political viewpoint. This is a time for mourning, not celebration. My heart is heavy with the loss of life of innocent Israeli and Palestinian civilians. I read something this morning. Of all the words I've seen trying to make sense of what's happening in the world, this one resonated with me in the most profound way. Thank you to Judianne Grace, an indigenous Canadian artist, for your words of humanity and comfort at this most devastating time. And thank you to the countless friends and colleagues who have reached out. Your support means more than you know.

What John Mayer did on Althea last night was absolutely ridiculous. I’ve watched this like five times since last night and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. cc: @willdefries @BarstoolBigCat

Lazy web. Which companies are taking the lead in making all-electric outdoor vehicles? (ATVs and products like the Ranger). It certainly is not Polaris.

@socialrobinson Nice! One reason I want all electric is maintenance. Hybrid solves range but makes vehicle more complex than simple gas motor.
