Fantastic news that the National Lottery Heritage Fund has awarded a grant to the Royal Artillery Museum for its 'Guns On The Plain' project, which aims to bring together military, veterans and civilians at a dynamic, accessible and sustainable museum at Larkhill, in Wiltshire, home of the Royal Artillery. We have more than 300 years of battle-hardened history - and so much of what has gone before, has shaped us into the modern fighting force we are today. We are proud of that legacy.

The Royal Artillery is down to 89 active towed Guns 🇬🇧 What the British Army actually has in the gun sheds today (Nov 2025) - **89 active L118 Light Guns** - 36 with 7 Para RHA & 29 Commando - 18 with 4/73 (Sphinx) Battery - 18 with King’s Troop RHA - 17 in the training fleet at Larkhill Source: - House of Commons Written Answer 12 Feb 2025 (HC Deb, col 12WS) - Army Equipment Plan 2025–2035 (published 30 Oct 2025) So the **UK’s real towed artillery park is the smallest in NATO Europe** – smaller than Estonia’s. A 1st indication of where British Army structure is headed, finally! This provides indications we can try and analyze: - standing up of a 2nd Reserve Bde (currently there is only 19 Bde) expected. Supposedly, these will be structured to "train as they would fight". We'll see.
