What is the point? I and many others find driving a pleasure. In over 40 years behind the wheel, the only two accidents I have had have been in the past 5 years and when someone else has hit me; one from behind and one in the side...

Platforms hosting lawful content must be shielded from government pressure to censor. We would require transparency in content moderation and prohibit state-directed takedowns of legal speech. The Online Safety Act law threatens the integrity of investigative journalism, whistleblowing, and political debate. Fears of liability lead to over-moderation, driving smaller players out of the market and empowering Big Tech. A Restore Britain government would therefore repeal the Online Safety Act - any Labour VPN ban would also be immediately reversed. We would restore free speech.

@TechOperator Many advantages as you point out but the big downer for me is they are not great for long road trips, I live in the UK and enjoy long drives across Europe I can drive about 450 miles without stopping in my petrol Mercedes.

“I spent 1 year with a Tesla and realized one thing: I was 100% confident in my misinformed opinions. I used to be an EV skeptic. I was wrong. Here are the 5 things that changed my mind:
Charging - I thought gas stations were better. I was wrong. Waking up every morning to a “full tank” is the single best benefit of ownership. No more stops in the rain or snow. It’s a total game-changer.
One-Pedal Driving - I didn't think braking could be improved. Wrong again. Regenerative braking is so intuitive that I almost never touch the physical brake pedal. Going back to a two-pedal internal combustion engine feels clunky now.
Full Self-Driving (FSD) - I said I’d never let a computer drive for me. Now? I’m convinced it drives better than I do. The improvements this year have been mind-blowing. This tech is going to provide massive mobility for the elderly and disabled.
The Screen vs. Buttons - I used to tell friends, "I like knobs and buttons." I laugh at that now. Thinking I need physical buttons is like missing the BlackBerry keyboard. The touch interface is intuitive, clean, and constantly improving.
Performance - I knew it would be fast, but it’s absurd. It replaced a high-end German sports car, and the Tesla handles and accelerates significantly better while still being a practical family vehicle.
Ignorance was bliss because it made me feel smart, but day-to-day ownership of the Model Y proved me wrong. If you're on the fence, the experience is likely much different from what you imagine.”

Just got this from a friend reflecting on the 1-year anniversary with their Tesla. “Everything people think before owning something tends to be, at best, misinformed, and typically just wrong. Charging is what really gets me. Non-Tesla or even non-EV owners have no idea of the quality-of-life impact of charging versus filling up a car with a toxic chemical in the rain, snow, and wind. His name is Ranger. The car's name is Killeen. It may be the dirtiest Tesla in America.”

HOW BEST TO SUPPORT RESTORE BRITAIN IF THEY ARE NOT RUNNING FOR YOUR COUNCIL IN MAY: If Reform pick up momentum through winning the councils they will win the next GE. That will be our last opportunity to fix the state of this country wasted. We can't give them that momentum. Restore can instigate this change, but they are not developed enough yet to field candidates and make a dent in May. The next best option for those of us who cannot vote Restore is to damage Reform. To do this, we must vote for their biggest contender. Mine is the Green party. If this was a GE even I wouldn't bring myself to vote Green but at the councils, it matters less. This keeps the seat warm for Restore to strike hard in 2029. We must all be tactical with our vote. Think of the long-term impact of Reform winning in May, it will not be good for Restore Britain.
