After 60 days under ice, P3 delivered 50%+ more chlorophyll. @SteveLoveday1 is at @michiganstateu Hancock Turfgrass Research Center working with @DrEmilyHolm walking through a controlled growth chamber study that puts turf through real winter stress. Half the plants were held under ice for 60 days, then thawed and evaluated. The difference was immediate. In the light box, the P3 treated turf shows a clear recovery edge over the untreated control: greener, stronger, higher fitness, better performance. PF3 Outperformed… Even After Winter
In Summer 2024 the MSU Hancock Turfgrass Research Center (Dr. Thom Nikolai) tested Plant Fitness PF3 on an A4 bentgrass green vs untreated + competitor (equal N).
PF3 delivered significantly better color/quality and came out of winter into Spring 2025 with stronger color, quality, and chlorophyll.

My wife @mhart71 was diagnosed w/breast cancer. Surgery is 3/26 & recovery is 4-6 wks. As a BOE para she’s not eligible for paid leave.

@DirtNerd09 @JeremyHreben Be careful with the rates. It will make your grass go haywire if the rate is too high. Recommended rates on turf are ultra low. This is a spot spray application where I tried to accelerate grow in.

@JeremyHreben Definitely sold. I just looked it up online and apparently you can get it off Amazon, but I’m doing some basic research on it. I appreciate the insight.

OK turf Twitter, here’s the question of the day…..
What do you use for immediate action and growth? Something gets the grass moving within a few days (say less than 5) and if it’s liquid, less than a 5 chemical mixture

@UDTurfguy It’s hard to tell from the picture, has that material washed out of the turf, or was it over applied to the cement and washed down into that low spot? Seems it would take a lot to move it across and through the turf.

While the theory behind these super slow release materials is valid and just, I see this far too often. If the products take a long time to breakdown - they're susceptible to off-target movement even under a dense turf. I think there are better, more sound, options imo
