@AdmiralUK The price should have been lower in the first place. I shouldn't have to phone and beg. The quoted renewal price was up by 53% and would have automatically renewed if I hadn't paid attention. This is surely the sort of 'loyalty penalty' that I thought the FCA had stopped.

@AdmiralUK Thanks. I've now spoken to Admiral and, miraculously, a discount of c.£100 was produced. If I hadn't phoned, this wouldn't have happened and I would have automatically renewed at the inflated 'loyalty penalty' price - something which isn't supposed to happen anymore!
