Marco Rubio, after holding detailed talks with Modi and bypassing his counterpart Jaishankar, has announced that India will buy $500 billion of US goods over the next five years. To meet this target, India must raise yearly imports from $45.6 billion to $100 billion, a 122 percent increase. Indian analysts who denounced China's BRI as a "debt trap" and "instrument of economic coercion" must now explain how this free trade with the US is playing out. The US's waning interest in QUAD is a major reason behind these coercive measures. There was no QUAD leaders' summit, which India was to host. Instead, Secretary Rubio was sent. This is because the US succeeded in pushing India into animosity with China but could not shift India's focus from the Himalayas to the Indo-Pacific – actual theatre of competition. Second, the May War badly exposed India's capability gaps. Instead of QUAD, the US has been working on a parallel and better positioned alliance, SQUAD, essentially replacing India with the Philippines. SQUAD first met in Singapore on the sidelines of the 2023 Shangri La Dialogue. Over the last three years, the four countries' defence chiefs have held five meetings. Last November, the SQUAD members agreed to formalize grouping by establishing the new Indo Pacific Chiefs of Defence Cooperation Council.

It’s common to fire more than one BVR missile at an air target When my uncle was flying F15s in the late Cold War, the USAF doctrine was shoot-look-shoot. You’d fire one missile, see if it was tracking, then fire another. Russians like to fire a thermal guided missile and then follow up with a radar missile. Even with modern missiles, a lot can go wrong. The missile can fail, or the enemy can defeat it with countermeasures. With extremely long range missiles the enemy has a lot of time and space to maneuver in such a way that the missile can be depleted of its energy and be unable to continue to pull lead. Given the stakes of that engagement, I wouldn’t be surprised if the J10s didn’t dump their whole missile load on the targets they were sorted onto.

As long as India had the upper hand in global diplomacy, they never talked peace with Pakistan, but instead did multiple false flag operation in India to create pretext of war with Pakistan.
