If bringing the Senate back into session is the only way to get the full DHS budget approved and the SAVE Act passed, this is exactly what we should do.

Mom gets pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt, but instead of cooperating she pulls straight into her driveway. Cop tells her to get back in the car — she refuses, grabs the baby out of the car seat, and starts yelling. Husband runs out of the house after hearing the commotion. The officer explains the situation and asks if he can take the baby… she refuses to hand the child over. Husband ends up telling her she’s being ridiculous. She then claims the officer was pushing and shoving her while she was trying to get the baby — even though he had told her to stay in the car well before she went around to the back seat. After more back-and-forth she finally lets the baby go inside… then comes back out fighting the arrest, screaming “no” the whole time. Husband actually apologizes to the cop, who later tells him, “I was way too lenient.” Dad replies, “I know you were.” All of this over a simple seatbelt stop. Who thinks she probably would have just gotten a warning for this? I do.
