Sie und ihr Mann haben sich bewusst dafür entschieden, ihre Kinder zweisprachig zu erziehen. Ihr Sohn spricht inzwischen ein gutes Deutsch. Aber die Mutter klingt müde, als sie sagt: „In seiner Klasse spricht kaum noch ein Kind Deutsch. Wir bügeln jeden Abend aus, was tagsüber verloren geht. Dabei haben wir selbst Deutsch erst als Erwachsene gelernt. Wir wollen, dass er in der Schule sein Deutsch verbessert und nicht, dass er es wieder vergisst! Die zweite Mutter ist Inderin. Ihr Sohn ist sechs. Die Lehrerin hatte ihr besorgt geraten, ihn mal untersuchen zu lassen – schwerhörig? Autistisch? Irgendetwas stimmt doch nicht, er spricht fast gar nicht in der Schule. Die Mutter nimmt den Jungen mit zu mir. Auf Fragen antwortet er ohne Probleme, auf Englisch sogar fließend, mit Begeisterung. Und zwischendurch auf Hindi mit seiner Mutter. Die Mutter schaut überrascht, ist erleichtert. Dann sagt sie leise: „In der Schule sprechen die Kinder alle unterschiedliche Sprachen." Jetzt wird klar: weil ihn dort niemand versteht, spricht er einfach nicht mehr. Zwei Kinder. Zwei Klassenzimmer. Zwei Schulen in der Kinder schreiben und lesen lernen sollten – und es nicht können. Weil die eine Sprache fehlt, die alle verbindet. Ich sitze jetzt hier und denke: Wie viele solcher Dramen spielen sich in unseren Schulen ab? Wie viele kluge, aufgeweckte Kinder enden als „Problemfälle“ nur weil Deutsch als gemeinsame Sprache an unseren Schulen kaum noch gesprochen wird.  Die Gutmenschen wollen Inklusion und multikulturelle Verständis. Aber die einfachste Form von Verständigung – dass man miteinander sprechen kann – scheint die schwerste zu sein.  Hier zwei Fälle von Kindern, die Chancen verlieren und verstummen, weil Deutsch an unseren Schulen zur Fremdsprache geworden ist. #DeutschalsFremdsprache

@CatalinaMonzoon Ich bin ein Gutmensch. Und Sprache ist das allerwichtigste überhaupt. Allerdings teile ich deine angeblichen Beobachtungen nicht. Bei uns an der Schule wird in den Pausen alles mögliche gesprochen (40 Nationen) und im Unterricht deutsch und es ist überhaupt kein Problem.
