Pie and Mash? Yes/No
TasteAtlas@TasteAtlas

Pie and Mash at Manze’s 📍 London, UK 🇬🇧 Explore London: tasteatlas.com/london How has Manze’s remained a London staple since 1902? As the city’s oldest pie and mash shop, this family-run institution has survived world wars and urban shifts by staying true to its original recipes. The dish is a cornerstone of London’s working-class history. It features minced beef pies with a distinctive suet pastry, paired with heaps of mashed potatoes. The defining element is the “liquor”—a savory, green parsley sauce traditionally made using the liquid from stewed eels. For the authentic experience, locals always season their plate with plenty of white pepper and a heavy dash of chili vinegar. Video credit: M.Manze Pie and Mash, Tower Bridge Road SE1

Fiteer Meshaltet? Yes/No
TasteAtlas@TasteAtlas

Fiteer Meshaltet 🇪🇬 at عم شلتت - 3m Shaltat Explore Egypt: tasteatlas.com/egypt It is rare for a comfort food to have a history stretching back millennia, but Fiteer Meshaltet is exactly that. Dating all the way back to Ancient Egypt, where it was originally made as an offering to the gods in temples, it has evolved into the ultimate symbol of Egyptian hospitality. The preparation of Fiteer is truly an art form that requires immense skill and speed. Bakers stretch the dough until it is almost translucent, coating every layer in rich samna balady (local ghee). By folding the giant sheet multiple times and wrapping dough within dough, they build the base for the pastry’s flaky, rich texture. Baked quickly inside high-heat, traditional ovens, it develops a deep, golden crust. Traditionally served warm, it is paired with both sweet and savory elements—ranging from eshta (thick clotted cream) and local honey to sharp white cheese

@BaronDestructo Too much sauce. And can someone explain to me why smashing a burger patty while cooking is better?

@BaronDestructo I'm in university IT and we're being required to use it. Gemini is ok for high level searches but anything more complicated than that and it starts using sources I didn't ask for and/or making up things. For me, Claude has been much more accurate. ChatGPT is off my list.
