@VinTanner68 @RandPaul It’s not that easy as Fauci’s pardon was preemptive. While Article II, Section 2 powers are granted to the President and those powers are plenary(broad), it’s murky. The last challenge involving pardons prior to confession or conviction was a SCOTUS case, Burdick v U.S. in 1915.

Secondly, the only signed pardon was Hunter’s and the other pardons/commutations were done by autopen. I know the OLC has opined that autopens are permissible for legal docs. 🤔

The current DHS funding standoff is over border security reforms and comprehensive appropriations not a vanity project. Trump has already directed available funds to keep TSA workers paid during negotiations. Democrats have blocked clean bills too when they lack their priorities. The proposed White House ballroom upgrade is a separate security driven renovation facing its own congressional hurdles. Conflating essential worker pay with it is pure partisan smoke. Rhode Island deserves leaders who stick to facts not exaggeration for clicks.
