@ABDanielSmith @ShelbyHappy He may have accepted the role pro bono but that is not to say he won't profit from the position. The opportunities for quid pro quo and kickbacks for making investments in specific entities important to the IDU are many, I'm sure.

🟥 American networks are calling TRUDEAU an “MVP", and a model for toughness, LEADERSHIP and democracy... 🫴🏼🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼 🔳📽️ MSNBC: “Trudeau was very early in, when he first came into office, one of the TOUGHEST on the Russians for the 2014 invasion of Ukraine. He’s been TOUGH on the Saudis, TOUGH on the Chinese, and now he’s been TOUGH on the Indians. I think he’s a bit of a MODEL for the West to look to, when you talk about liberal Democracy.” #LeadershipMatters#MVP 🦁🦁

It's two and a half years since the Antigone project began, and we're thrilled with how the last 30 months of mirth have played out. We launched with a simple mission: to publish pieces about the Ancient Greeks, Romans, and their worlds, that would enthuse and inspire the public.

1. A few days ago, I wrote a thread about the pros and cons of staying on this platform and asked for your views. They were very helpful. As a result, I’ve decided to stop using X from January 20. Already I’m mostly posting now on BlueSky (@georgemonbiot.bsky.social) instead.🧵

Just another reminder that the groups worrying about the dreaded scourge of chatbots and working to strangle AI with suffocating legislation are intensely focused on crushing the private sector with 95% of their effort, while the real evils of AI (war machines and surveillance) go totally unchecked. They're focused on the wrong thing and we will all pay for it if they win.

Imagine being bereaved by the loss of your spouse and having a coworker invade your cubicle the next day in order to hawk some tacky Amway product after mumbling a few sleazily insincere words of condolence with a faint smirk. Classic Poilievre. Soulless, devoid of character.

@Dred_Tory @ScottHaggett He would attend the funeral only if a free luncheon was provided and an uncritical press was present to amplify his shallow, self-serving slogans along with his fake and insincere condolences.

One of the things I occasionally get paid to do by companies/execs is to tell them why everything seemed to SUDDENLY go wrong, and subs/readers dropped like a stone. So, with everything going on at Twitter rn, time for a thread about the Trust Thermocline /1
