@Strickomaster Have done some great work with @marcrowland73 on this, build a strong curriculum and help disadv overcome any barriers they might have to accessing it. Start with that in principle, makes these ideas you mention seem a bit lightweight doesn't it

@ladybowesbury @thosethatcan @TimesRadio I don't think the uplift colleges get for students studying the extra hours of the IB covers the staffing costs of the extra lessons they have over and above the A level students.

@thosethatcan @MartinHiggon @TimesRadio The college I worked at offered the IB but cut it sadly - apparently more expensive than A levels… would like to know if this is still the case.. as can’t imagine state schools or colleges offering a more expensive course given funding issues….

@thosethatcan @TimesRadio Yes it is, it's tiny numbers outside of private schools though. We were a state school but had to stop offering it as it was too costly compared to A levels

Teachers have no idea how much impact they have. I spent much of my teenage years wishing one of my teachers would adopt me, since things were pretty awful at home, and she made it worth coming to school every day. In touch with her now and I cried when she told me she's proud.
