@NYCMayor You mean the people pay high property taxes but minimally use City services?

Our new pied-à-terre tax will have the ultra-wealthy elite — those who own $5 million apartments in New York City but don’t actually live here — pay their fair share.

.@PalmerLuckey: "Patents are Chinese instruction manuals" and we need to reinvent the US patent system: "Stop patenting everything." "The Founding Fathers never predicted a world where you'd have a globalized economy, and the entire patent office could be downloaded every single morning, ripped off, and then used to fight a war against you." " We need to really fundamentally revisit the patent system." "I think we need to massively expand the national security patent process. You can obtain a classified patent. You can get a patent on something that you are not allowed to disclose to anyone, but you still maintain the exclusivity on those rights." " We need to massively expand that program." Via @HooverInst

Rays CEO @kenbabby on what MLB Commissioner Robert Manfred said last night to him on the phone: “We are in the late innings of a very long game with the future of baseball in Tampa Bay hanging in the balance. We have faith in Tampa Bay as a Major League city and I hope that the city council responds with a positive vote to this non binding MOU.”

I am a J6er. I protested a stolen election. Walked right past the police through an open door, and the police let me in. My father's step son turned me into the FBI. My house was raided. They branded me a traitor, and insurrectionist, slapped me on a terrorist watchlist. I plead guilty to illegal picketing, a Class B petty offense misdemeanor with the same sentencing guidelines as walking your dog off leash on a National Park . They swore no prison time. They lied. Judge Hogan sentenced me to 30 days for “not being remorseful enough” and three years’ probation to tie me up through elections. An unconstitutional "split" sentence. My Judge, Judge Hogan called J6 worse than the war of 1812. All I did was chant "Stop the Steal!" inside the Capitol and wear the wrong Tshirt. God Bless the J6ers!

My wife sent me to Publix for milk. Two hours later I’m on IPA #5, elbows deep in wings, patrolling the self-checkout like a damn security guard with a pint in my hand and a suspicious eye on every Yankee trying to scan their own kale. 🧐 🍺 This is not a drill. They put a real bar inside the store. 🍷 Publix: Where shopping is literally a pleasure. Came for the BOGOs, stayed for happy hour, leaving with a solid buzz and zero milk. 😂 The best part? Sitting at that bar watching all the other husbands slowly realize they’re never making it home with the groceries either. 👏🏻 Is it still grocery shopping if you’re hammered? Asking for a friend who’s definitely sleeping on the couch tonight. Send help. Or more wings. 🍺🛒💀

Jeff Bezos

Thank you. The important part is zeroing out taxes on the bottom half. Best way to put money in someone’s pocket is to not take it out in the first place. Bottom half is only 3% of total tax revenue. But it’s very meaningful to that person. Zero it out.
Chris | Venture X Media@thecoachchris_

Facts It's great that Jeff Bezos thinks this way, because too many people who don't make money think that giving money to the government will solve a lot of their problems. They think these government programs are the answer, and it's clearly not. You can look at the federal level or at the state level, and you will see that a lot of government programs are simply waste.

The problem with LA is the "Everything's Fine" people. These are people that came to LA after its heyday and during its decline after the financial crash of 2008. The more recent the transplant, the less they are aware of what Los Angeles used to be. They have no idea all the areas that used to be lively, or that there was a world class music and night life scene. If you mention there weren't homeless people shitting on the streets everywhere, they call you a MAGA fascist because unhoused people have rights too and Everything's Fine. If you mention entire neighborhoods like the Pacific Palisades did not burn down, they say you should not be blaming the mayor for the weather (which is controlled by global warming Republicans) and Everything's Fine. You can say it's really not normal for so many shops to be closed all over Los Angeles with empty storefronts, and they'll say something about equity and that Everything's Fine. The street vendors on sidewalks in front of KoreaTown restaurants that are shutting down? That's totally fine because that's LA culture (no it fucking isn't newbie). Crime? Everything's Fine. These theater kid transplants from Michigan say why are you complaining, move somewhere else. They don't know what they don't know. Then they drink a $20 Erewhon smoothie thinking that's the height of LA culture. Everything's Fine.

The CEO of Take-Two, the company behind GTA, just said something the entire AI industry doesn't want to hear. And he said it without being anti-AI. Strauss Zelnick's argument is precise. AI is built on datasets. Datasets are backward-looking. Creativity is forward-looking. A model trained on everything that already exists cannot, by definition, produce something genuinely unexpected. And all hits, by their very nature, are unexpected. Asset creation and hit creation are not the same thing. AI is getting very good at the first one. The second one is what actually makes money, builds franchises, and changes culture. Nobody has shown AI can do that yet. The derivative property problem is real. You can clone GTA with existing technology. You could do it before AI. It would take 3 years and look identical. It still wouldn't sell. Because it isn't GTA. It's a clone of GTA. And consumers, despite what the industry occasionally pretends, can feel the difference between something genuinely new and something assembled from the residue of things that already worked. Thousands of mobile games ship every year. 0 to 5 hits get made. The same studios make them every time. The technology to make more games has been commoditized for years. It didn't democratize hit creation. It just flooded the market with more forgettable product. The Silicon Valley thesis that AI unlocks game creation for everyone is true in the same way that cheap cameras unlocked filmmaking for everyone. They did. And the same 5 studios still make the movies everyone watches. What Zelnick is saying, without quite saying it, is that the thing AI cannot replicate is taste. The instinct for what hasn't been done yet. The cultural antenna that detects the gap in the market before the data can see it. Data tells you what people wanted. Hits tell people what they want next. Those are different jobs.
Mario Nawfal@MarioNawfal

🇺🇸 Tucker lays out the deepest critique of AI yet, and it's not about jobs... His argument: writing produces thinking. You can't formulate a thought without first articulating it. If kids never write because AI writes for them, the quality of human thinking collapses. That's the surface problem. The deeper one is purpose: "The point of living is to create. That's the point of being a human being. It's necessary for joy. There is no joy without creation." If the machine creates everything and humans just consume, you don't get utopia. You get despair, mass unemployment, and eventually political revolution.

Let’s get it clear once and for all. It’s not about race, folks. That’s a Democrat trick. It’s about CULTURE. Am I a racist? Absolutely not. Am I a culturalist? Unequivocally, yes. If you can’t assimilate to this culture, our values, our laws, and our traditions, get out.

Just got back from Tokyo. To NYC. It's hard to avoid the blindingly obvious truth--NY tax dollars are disgustingly wasted. It's shocking, the state of the City considering it's budget. You could "tax the rich" into bankruptcy and it wouldn't fix the MTA, which carries approximately the same ridership as the Tokyo Metro but has a budget 5.5x larger than Tokyo's. I mean the answer isn't dollars, it's actually just a question of efficiency. And NYC's government is corrupt, bloated, and the poster child of inefficiency.

My house burned down. I lost everything. I can’t rebuild. As a 42 year old man with 2 kids, I’ve had to move into my parents’ house, and I’m getting attacked for that? This is journalism? This is why no decent people ever get into politics. This is why you only have goblins running everything. God help you if you try to make things right for your community…if you lose your entire town, “journalists” mock you for not making your kids sleep in the toxic dirt on your burned out lot. Who raised you, dude?

I think we are going to see the eventual withdrawal of US influence in Taiwan and Ukraine. Trump is removing Chinese/Russian influence from our hemisphere, Venezuela, Panama, Cuba, etc., and I think Trump wants to remove our presence from China and Russia’s neighborhood as well. Putin and Xi stood down this entire time while Trump removed their influence in our region, and I think they did so in exchange for us to do the same. This fits into my overall thesis that we are seeing the world map be redrawn, and spheres of influence are being consolidated. The US will no longer be the world police, our military is coming home, and the superpowers will be in charge of their respective regions. I think Trump is ending the proxy wars, the espionage, the weapons of mass destruction arms races, the Cold War that never ended, and preventing WW3 before it begins. We will stay in our yard, China/Russia will stay in their yard, and we can trade with each other and coexist peacefully. We can treat each other as global partners, instead of enemies on a collision course for war. I think this is the end goal of the plan. A sustainable and lasting peace.
