@LSK94LH @JamesMelville Relevant word "accident" as opposed to deliberate. Carry a gun and you are more likely to shoot someone than someone that doesn't carry one

@Debatablelands @JamesMelville How many children in the US have shot themselves when they've found their parents weapons compared to the UK? We don't teach shooting drills in schools here either, wonder why?

@JamesMelville I’d love to see that as a percentage of the population and set against the UK. Guns legally owned and the same of illegal guns used that result in deaths that are deemed to have been a criminal act. I wonder which percentage will be higher. At a quick guess I bet it’s the UK.

@AllisonPearson Healthy people do not die from covid but they spread it to those that will die from it. Vaccinate them and you stop the spread of the virus, don't and it will spread.

@pritipatel Lying and backtracking about policies that you introduced is not going to help your cause. You were voted out because of lying to the country so don't you think it might be a good idea to stop your lying and come up with new policies to win back your voters?

Keir Starmer’s Chagos Surrender was a serious threat to our national security, and the Conservative Party stopped this reckless Bill from progressing to protect our national interest. Not content with paying Mauritius for the privilege of leasing back our own military base, Starmer agreed to hand over hard-pressed taxpayers’ cash to boost the Mauritian economy! This is more self-obsessive Labour madness: giving our money away to a foreign government and failing to put Britain and the British people first. express.co.uk/news/politics/…

@wendlingere49 He was in charge of CPS but not involved in individual cases. They look at evidence collected by the police and decide if there is a good chance of winning the case. Blaming Starmer is like Blaming Branson when an employee of Virgin has stolen a biscuit on one of his flights

No Foreign Flags Flying Above Grimsby Town Hall 👏🏻 Oliver Freeston is a proud British Councilor that puts his town and people first He's been on the job less than a week and he smashing it on so many levels, immigration, flags, regeneration of Cleethorpes, and bringing back a culture to Cleethorpes we haven't seen in over 20 years 'Boating Lake Roadshow', can you imagine what he is going to be like as an MP in 2029 😁 The people of this town are soon going to realize we've been missing a real leader for years. Oliver is a man that will get things done. His statement on reforms flag policy 👇🏻 In advance of my meeting with Council Officers to discuss the official North East Lincolnshire Council Flag Policy - an issue that has generated considerable debate - I wanted to set out the Reform Group’s position clearly ahead of those discussions. We strongly believe the Council should not fly flags connected to political or campaigning causes, including Pride, disability, or International Women’s Day flags. In our view, this kind of political gesturing is unnecessary and divisive. We all unite under two flags, the Union flag and St George's Cross. Our preference is for the Council to fly flags that reflect our shared national identity and local heritage, including the Union Flag, the St George’s Cross, and flags recognising our area’s proud military and seafaring history and traditions. 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Welcome thoughts on this… 💬

Migrants to get 50% of all new house builds, have the loonies thought about who might want to buy the other 50%, knowing within 6 months they will not be able to sell them, so these estates will become 100% for migrants. How is this a good idea. Who will pay for the houses?

@DavidWebbTweet @AndyBurnhamGM Stop name calling. Of course it goes up inflation wage increases so it has to go up. It's by how much that is the question. Tories have quietly reduced and eroded services. Ambulances round here are now privately run, Thames they're called. Is it better cheaper? No it isn't

@MartinMay852946 @AndyBurnhamGM The Conservatives increased public spending you dimwit. The alternative to increasing taxes is to make the public sector more efficient. Productivity in the public sector is absolutely terrible especially now they are mostly pretending to work from home.

@Jatinde29605173 @Dallocles Me and my wife have both had surgery lately. The care and attention we received was exemplary and can't fault it. She had a problem with her chest, rang in the morning, Dr rang back, an hour later she was in his surgery. It seems to work very well here in Grimsby

@MartinMay852946 @Dallocles Enjoy the NHS? Whats the highlight, the 2 hour pre queue at A&E before the 4 hour main queue? The fact you've paid through the nose in taxes and you can't get an appointment? Enjoy the NHS?

Fucks sake i'm sick of UK weather discourse let this be the first and last I speak on it. I've lived in the UK and Utah, which is a very dry heat. The UK is worse, despite being lower. Why? We're an island, it's very humid, it's like trying to breathe through a damp towel. 1/2

@DavidWebbTweet @AndyBurnhamGM Taxes pay for public spending. Reduce them and you have to cut public services to pay for them. The last government maxed out our national debt and cut public spending. Where did the money go?

@MartinMay852946 @AndyBurnhamGM Historically the Conservatives were the party of low taxes. When they shifted leftwards to meet Labour they lost most of their support because regardless of what politicians think the publuc can see that lower taxes are better for the country.

@Veritatem2021 @johnredwood I don't think that is true. It's the level of reporting that's the problem. You only have to look at how X and Facebook have been taken over by trolls that once you challenge them with fa unbiased information

@Veritatem2021 @johnredwood A lot of it comes down to reporting in the press. People only read the headlines and not the content. Nobody bothers to look at actual data so the press control the narrative. When it was announced that we have the fastest growing economy in the G7 it is always followed by a"but"

Trying to join an EU/UK single market in goods would mean breaking the Manifesto promise not to rejoin the single market. It would mean adopting many EU rules and sending them lots of taxpayer money to help them sell us more imports.

Sounds attractive, but how would HMRC distinguish between normal earnings and hours worked beyond 40 a week for salaried workers, business owners, teachers, doctors, managers and anyone whose hours aren’t clocked? And how much would it cost the Treasury? It’s all bullshit. Like the rest of their announcements.
Zia Yusuf@ZiaYusufUK

🚨Important policy announcement: Britain was built on the hard graft of people who go the extra mile. A Reform government will ABOLISH income tax on hours worked beyond 40 hours a week, for incomes below £75,000 a year. It’s time to REWARD hard work, not punish it! 🇬🇧

@Heccles94 Because reform are a PLC and not a political party they are answerable to their shareholders. Farage and Tice own the majority share so he can do what the he'll he likes with no accountability to party members. He also has total control of its finances to do what he likes

@CarolThoman9bk @JeremyVineOn5 What exactly has not been "properly implimented" that would make Brexit turn into the benefit that was promised? I thought about this while I was queuing up to enter Spain through the "non EU" gate on my holiday.

@JeremyVineOn5 No and no. 2016? “once in a generation vote”? It’s been 10 years and Brexit has still not been properly implemented.. in no small part because of remainers in positions of power who disregarded in their minds the peoples vote and tried every possible way to overrule it.

Would you swap the pound for the Euro in order to rejoin the EU? It's a condition demanded by an EU chief after Labour challengers Wes Streeting and Andy Burnham put a return to the bloc back on the agenda. Is scrapping sterling a price worth paying?
