MUST’s innovation hub @MUST_CITT was ably represented by Mr. @MartinMukama Senior Prototyping and Technology Development Officer, who engaged students on the importance of prototyping in transforming ideas into real-world solutions. Sharing his own journey, he reflected on how he and his team once stood in a similar position, pitching their idea; PRISMS technology, a newborn clinical decision support tool back in 2013. Today, that innovation has secured multiple grants and is being used across Africa, demonstrating the power of persistence and innovation. He encouraged students to take advantage of upcoming @MbararaUST CITT seed grants, positioning themselves for support in prototype development, product development, and commercialization.

Dr. Medard Twinamatsiko, Director of the MUST Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer (CITT), provided a comprehensive background on the university's Intellectual Property (IP) journey, noting that since the 2021 policy was revised into the 2025 IP and Commercialization Policy, MUST has transformed into a regional leader and a WIPO-certified Technology and Innovation Support Centre. This framework has already secured 12 active IP assets ensuring @MbararaUST is the lead applicant and protector of its researchers' brilliance.

Day five and Final day of the @UCOBS_P5 entrepreneurship boot camp at @MbararaUST kihumuro campus.

Our Director, #DrMedardTwinamatsiko, applauded the brilliant minds behind the outstanding innovative ideas presented and expressed sincere appreciation to @howest_international for the strong partnership with @mbararaust. The session was crowned with the awarding of the teams.

We were delighted to host the @UCOBS_P5 boot camp in partnership with @howest students at the @MbararaUST kihumuro campus.This boot camp enabled the students bring up innovative ideas that would solve the different challenges they had identified.

Earlier today, the official handing over of the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs took place. This transition marks a vital step in the commitment to institutional continuity and excellence.

Today we successfully performed our first endoscopic neurosurgery. Grateful to our partners in San Diego and @MbararaUST for making this camp possible and supporting vulnerable children. From now on, kids will access neuro surgeries. @MbararaHospital @MinofHealthUG
