it's just a soccer game, you might say. but that's exactly why this strikes me as so insane. there are zero stakes, the easiest "I care about america" in the world, and they still can't support our country. in fact, they seem to see any demonstration of support as a liability.

@hattori9000 @growing_daniel And while I was excited to see San Siro, it was unbelievable what a DUMP it is. I'm all for history but I'm glad for the fans to hear it is being replaced. They deserve better

@MaryEllenPelzer @growing_daniel To be fair, italian stadiums are notoriously old. Used to be a story of charm and history but they’re slowly talking them selves into building new stadiums. Not an easy task but it’ll get done eventually. For newer and shinier europeans stadiums, germany is recommended

@hattori9000 @growing_daniel The new stadium in Milan which was used for the hockey games (although unfinished) had many more amenities and was approaching US venue standards. It was beautiful and comfortable.

@ImTheOnePieceBE @growing_daniel I'm sorry, we were busy working a 12 hour day before going to the game so we could be the most dominant economic force in the world. Didn't have time before the match to go to the market. 🦅 🇺🇸 🚀 🌭

Oh man, so disappointed. We already destroyed the Mayor's free busses. Well, this is why we cant have nice things.
New York Post@nypost
Knicks mania turned into complete insanity in Times Square when fans smashed and tore apart several school buses in the packed party hub — including one that was left completely engulfed in fire.
English

@stoolpresidente oh man, what a bummer. Those were the mayor's free busses. Well, this is why we cant have nice things.

@SenSanders social security as a system is a failure. it doesn't provide enough for our elderly and disabled. If we invested that money instead we would create wealth for all Americans rather than dependence on a system of inadequate support.
English

@SenWarren if your ideas actually helped the people you pretend to care about, you wouldn't have to be such a troll.

On Memorial Day, New York City’s flags are lowered to half-mast as we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country, and we hold close the families who carry that loss every day.
Today is not only a day of remembrance — it is a call to live up to our obligations to every veteran, every service member, and every military family.
NYC is home to 135,000 veterans and Gold Star families. A grateful nation must do more than say thank you. It must stand with those who served long after the ceremonies end.

We had a rainy day, and we’ll have a rainy night.
The heaviest rainfall is expected to begin in the early hours of the morning and continue through midday tomorrow.
While flash flooding is not forecasted, conditions can change quickly — especially overnight — and it’s never too soon to learn how to stay safe during a storm.
Here’s what you can do right now:
➡️ Text NOTIFYNYC to 692-692 for emergency alerts.
➡️ Use caution when traveling and take mass transit if possible.
➡️ Visit nyc.gov/beready to learn more and make a plan for you and your family.
If flooding occurs:
➡️ Call 911 if you are in immediate danger, trapped by rising water, or see a life-threatening emergency.
➡️ Floodwater can rise rapidly, conceal hazards, and carry electrical current or contamination.
➡️ Avoid flooded basements, subway stations, and underpasses.
➡️ Never walk, swim, or drive through floodwater.
➡️ If you live in a basement apartment, move to higher ground immediately.
➡️ File a @NYC311 service request for issues that require a City response: basement flooding, sewer backups, downed trees, mold, or power outages.
➡️ Report damage at reportdamage.nyc.gov to help the City assess impacts and secure federal recovery resources.
Rain or shine, we get through weather together. Stay vigilant, make a plan, and look out for one another.

@NYCMayor Focus on fixing our sewer system instead of daily videos for the kids.

This weekend will be a rainy one, and whenever and wherever it rains, conditions can worsen quickly.
New Yorkers should always be prepared to stay safe:
Text NOTIFYNYC to 692-692 for emergency alerts.
If you must travel, use caution and use mass transit if possible. Never walk, swim, or drive through floodwater.
If you live in a basement, move to higher ground if flooding occurs.
Call 911 if you are in immediate danger, trapped by rising water, or see a life-threatening situation.
Visit nyc.gov/beready for more safety guidance.
Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani@NYCMayor
The National Weather Service just put out a flood advisory and severe thunderstorm warning. Here's how to stay safe, New York. Text NOTIFYNYC to 692-692 to sign up for NYC emergency alerts and find more information at nyc.gov/floodprep.
