Only one session focus on #bingeeatingdisorder in the #ledc2023 but yesterdays plenary highlighted the need for ED competence in somatic clinics. The crowd meeting for this single BED workshop speaks for it self 🙌 By @TetNes and Phd student @NTNU 🇧🇻

Really resonating to hear @CheriLev discussing overlap between eating disorders and OCD, and thinking about common treatment approach #LEDC2023

Looking for some advice re #disabled #mum ‘s to be. Are there OT teams who will assess mum pre natal in preparation for post natal. Thinking about physical health in particular… #OT #Perinatalperiod #PerinatalOT

@fisheraddiction @MaggieFelton99 @doingtherapy I love helping people explore their values, a really good underpinning to thinking about identity and how people might want to spend their time. Haven't seen this resource before, looks great. Thanks for sharing, will be ordering myself a deck.

The subject of #values has come up a few times recently. A question from @MaggieFelton99 & a talk by @doingtherapy reminded me of using the interactive approach to support articulation & prioritization with service users. Keen to bring it back into practice #occupationaltherapy

@JulieZorzi3 @LaughingOT Absolutely agree - @theRCOT have really missed the mark with this by underselling our profession as a collection of tricks, rather than complex assessment and personalised interventions.

@LaughingOT Is using a flip flow to retrain a bladder a specialist nursing "hack" or a clinical intervention? Is passive range of movement of a hemiplegic limb a "hack" or a specialist neuro-physical technique? This term is just not sitting well with me in qualifying the value of OT.

Can only assume the government has a different dictionary than me if they think their approach to people coming to this country is 'compassionate and welcoming' - shameful.

@Tigercatgirl @theRCOT I acknowledge could be some 'Top tips from an OT' that could be useful, however it will be missing showcasing most of the amazing work we do across so many settings. Why employ an OT when you could manualise some hacks that any HCP could deliver?

@Tigercatgirl @theRCOT Similar feelings here. Promoting our profession's complex and person-centred interventions as life hacks seems reductionist and a missed opportunity. I feel disappointed this is best our professional body can come up with - maybe I'm missing something?

Anyone else reflecting on 'life hack' following @theRCOT info? "...a strategy or technique adopted in order to manage one's time and daily activities in a more efficient way." A shortcut? A trick? For some reason this isn't sitting comfortably with me 🤔
