So few games inspire the devotion, excitement and the loyalty New Vegas does. What amounts to basically a glorified mod, has captured the hearts and minds of Fallout fans for over 15 years. What Obsidian did in 18 months changed the entire direction of the Fallout brand, and created a schism that should never heal. For the 5 years after New Vegas, Fallout was a goofy Western. A heart-breaking Sci Fi Epic. A humanity focused Horror RPG. For those 5 short years Fallout was about roleplaying, player choice and a return to what made Fallout special. We all know what would happen next. Call me a purist, call me a glazer, call me a hack - but nothing changes the impact of how good we had it for those 5 years until Fallout 4. Art by Max58
