Central Mason Fire-EMS has issued an emergency alert for Skokomish Valley. The 800 line and Eells Hill Road are closed and in accessible. The Skokomish River is expected to rise as high as 17.5 feet tonight. Residents are urged to evacuate or shelter in place for 72 hours.

According to an automated @wsdot_tacoma tweet, U.S. Highway 101 between Hoodsport and Quilcene is now open. It had been closed since 9:20 p.m. Sunday.

Noon update on US 101 between Hoodsport and Quilcene: Our crews are still out clearing US 101 in partnership with local PUD crews. They have a few more miles to go. Continue detouring via SR 104/3 on the west side of the Hood Canal. We will keep you posted as we know more!

Updated: Closure on both dirs. US 101 near SR 104 from mp 285 to mp 332. 2, 2022 until further notice. This is due to trees and powerlines down across the roadway. Use alternate route.

Update Wallace Kneeland Outage: Power was quickly restored at 12:22 pm.

As of a few moments ago, there was no power from the McDonalds on Olympic Highway North down toward Walmart or down Wallace Kneeland to O'Reilly Auto Parts.

UPDATE: This road work is actually on Olympic Highway North, between A and B Streets (1300 block). The date and time are still Sunday, December 19 between 8:00 a.m. and noon. Apologies for any confusion!

EMERGENCY POWER OUTAGE - There will be an emergency outage along 106, affecting Olympic Vista and Timber Tides. (see attached map) The crew is replacing a pole that was damaged last night in a car pole accident. This outage is going to last the better part of 6 hours.

This week, our sign, work zone, traffic and bridge crews met in #MasonCounty to begin early work and mobilize equipment to the US 101 Lilliwaup River Bridge. Earlier this year, a logging truck struck the bridge. This work is to conduct structural repairs to the railings. (1/2)

BREAKING NEWS: @HighclimberSHS @climbercross senior Alauna Carstens won the 2A District IV individual XC title this morning with a time of 18 minutes, 32 seconds. Senior Ali Clifton was fourth and the Climbers qualified for next week's WIAA meet with a third-place team finish.

Restrooms are closed in the day-use area at Potlach State Park until further notice. Restrooms in the campground area are available. (Also please don't do this with the TP).
