I went to see my oncologist on Monday. I was told my cancer is in remission. After ten years. She said my stage four breast cancer was in remission. She said I’m doing great. I have been fighting for ten years. 2016. I’m in shock. I never thought I’d hear that!

Stage 4 breast cancer. 10 years. In remission. This woman didn't just survive she outlasted a diagnosis that statistically wasn't supposed to allow it. The human body's capacity to fight when the mind refuses to quit is one of the most underreported phenomena in medicine. Congratulations doesn't cover it.

Octreotide reduced transfusion needs in patients with anemia from angiodysplasias in a multicenter Dutch trial (62 patients, 17 hospitals). Would you use it for recurrent angiodysplasia bleeding?

Stage 3 rectal cancer in a 26 year old. This is what I've been warning about. The incidence of colorectal cancer in young adults has nearly doubled since the early 1990s. We're seeing Stage III and IV in people under 40 with increasing aggressiveness. But the real story here is the treatment. This is dostarlimab, a PD-1 checkpoint inhibitor. Immunotherapy alone. No surgery. No chemo. No radiation. 100% clinical complete response rate in mismatch repair deficient rectal cancers. The immune system did what it was designed to do. We've known since PD-1 inhibitors were approved in 2014 that this was the direction cancer treatment needed to go. The paradigm is shifting. Empower the immune system instead of destroying it.

For Staph aureus IN BLOOD (Bacteremia) DALBAVANCIN two doses a week apart (Day 1 and day 8) is JUST AS GOOD at eight weeks of IV therapy even for MRSA

ECCO 2026 has been the best ECCO congress in several years. Biggest surprise for me however was that appendectomy is being recommended for therapy-refractory UC in the upcoming ECCO UC guidelines. Has anyone recommended this for a patient yet?

6 months. It took me 6 months of residency in Med Onc to open my eyes to a deep and hard-hitting truth : There is no such thing as a Medical Oncologist There are only general physicians who know how to manage cancer

Maybe I’m too much of a European, but I honestly can’t understand how so many Americans find it perfectly natural to be shot in the head on the spot for the slightest act of disobedience toward any sort of law enforcement. You might wanna revisit that "land of the free" thing.
