During my short 5-day stay in India, I’ve noticed that Indian society has become a zero-trust one when it comes to financial transactions. In aggregate, this reflects a mindset that increasingly values money over human relationships.

Those are the "dimples of Venus" (or sacral dimples). They're small indentations on the lower back where the pelvis meets the sacrum.
They're often linked to lower body fat, strong core muscles, and good posture—and yeah, a lot of people find them really attractive. Purely anatomical, not a "meaning" beyond that. Nice example in the pic!

The kind of gloating coming from within own India Alliance over the failure of TMC and DMK is shameful to see. Saw similar boasting when Arvind Kejriwal, Tejaswi Yadav (part of India Alliance) lost and in AAP’s recent split. And now are aiming their guns at Akhilesh Yadav for the upcoming UP elections.
These divides are exactly what the voters reject and BJP exploits. 2024 was not one party leading the way in the opposition, it was a joint collaborative effort by all parties combined. So please back off and remember the spirit of why India Alliance came about in the first place.

The Left would benefit greatly by realizing that democratic processes in this country are being eroded with every election. The deletion of 27 lakh voters under the garb of SIR is no small matter. Why hasn't the Left mobilized street protests against this?

Folks I hate to say it but my pals in Kolkata were sick of the TMC. They are all from former left-leaning families. In their ideal world Buddhadeb would be resurrected. They don’t support the BJP but they did tell me they needed Mamata to be ousted. I’m just stating what I was told.

Bengal has witnessed post-poll unrest and violence in past years also but never at this magnitude.
Neither the Communist Party of India (Marxist) nor the All India Trinamool Congress ever pushed the state to a point where its very fabric felt threatened because despite everything, there was still an emotional stake in Bengal, the “Bengali” emotion “Bengal belongs to us”, thus not harm to Bengal.
What we are seeing now feels different. There appears to be little sense of belonging among those driving the destruction and that lack of attachment shows.
Yes, parts of TMC had their own mismanagements which includes power misuse, pressure tactics, strong-arm behavior and at times sheer ruthlessness. But even then, it did not spiral into what Bengal is witnessing since yesterday afternoon.
And the most alarming part? The Bharatiya Janata Party hasn’t even formally taken charge yet.
