A knife banned for English people, an Englishman stabbed, and the police handcuffing the victim to death in the name of anti-racism : the Henry Nowak case alone sums up the collapse of our justice system. His name was Henry Nowak, killed in the name of anti-racism.

“The Sikh community integrate, assimilate and they work very hard. There’s no dominating gangs. They’re not attacking our culture. In fact, they integrate and they become British.” I’d guess Tommy Robinson feels this way because he has Sikh friends. I also knew some good Sikhs growing up. I’ve known good Muslims too. Many of us who grew up in multicultural Britain will have had positive interactions with people from these communities. But that doesn’t make it acceptable to pretend that members of these groups don’t cause problems in Britain or are fully integrated. Sikhs are allowed to carry a large knife for religious reasons. The rest of us aren’t even permitted to carry pepper spray, let alone a knife. How can a community be integrated when the law treats them differently to everyone else due to a very real difference between our cultures? The idea of living in a town full of men who are carrying large knives while I am not legally permitted to carry anything to defend myself should one decide to attack me is terrifying. Why would anyone be okay with that? I don’t understand this double standard where some people are okay with calling out problems in the Muslim community but not other immigrant groups. We need to speak honestly about what is going on in our country even when it’s uncomfortable to do so.
