A remake in 2026 would be toothless. They would remove Oghren because he's problematic, the Broodmothers because they are too gruesome for modern sensibilities, blood magic because it's evil, etc. If you want to play Origins, just slap the 4GB patch on and knock yourself out.

For most of the main targets in Dishonored 1, not killing them leaves them to an even worse fate than outright death. Spoilers ahead You basically give Lady Boyle to her obsessive stalker and he takes her somewhere undisclosed, the twins become literal slaves at the cat house they own, etc.
