Inspired by @MrMattock at #MathsConf23 and his idea of introducing mean to pupils in a way which they can understand how & why we get our answer. I think this is useful to model live on a visualiser but I animated this to share with colleagues. Grey on final bit or colours?

Spent the day finalising our T&L Playbook for next year. Core techniques are a mix of @TeachLikeAChamp and @WALKTHRUs_5 strategies. The playbook details the what, how, when and why of each, with videos from @Steplab_co for teachers to explore in labs and with their coaches. 🤓

@MathematicAlley Sadly no. This has never been available. We gave up paying £800pa just to access the front-of-class book. We'd have been very happy with an e-book or locked PDF, but Pearson wouldn't make enough money out of it.

Oh blimey! Turns out we’re the second most improved school for Progress 8 in Brum and joint 23rd most improved school for Progress 8 in England! Amazing kids, amazing colleagues 🌟

Progress 8 day. We are a school that is 67% PP; last year we were 61.9% PP. Thrilled with the improvement in progress in 2024, *especially* for our disadvantaged children. 2023 P8 was -0.39 Disadvantaged P8 was -0.67 2024 P8 0.22 Disadvantaged P8 0.16 Huge team effort 💛💙
