Extremely impressive to see the forecast westerly wind burst event in the West Pac potentially be the strongest one on record for mid-late Mar & early Apr since 1940 I can’t recall coming across any El Niños w/ a westerly wind burst this meridionally extensive & strong in spring

I don't know if we've ever gotten such a good view of a polar low/arctic hurricane on radar before

The current sea surface temperature anomaly of +1.5ºC equals what was observed at this same time of year in March 2023, preceding the onset of a very strong classic or canonical El Niño episode. Just a heads up, we could get a Super El Niño in 2026.

That's too much convection for just a ''non tropical low'' in Alaska right now. Just as the medicane yesterday morning, that's a fully tropical system, with rain bands, eye and eyewall. It's about to landfall somewhere in inhabited areas.

@wxluizfelippe E não depende só da água, o precursor já tem que ser bem definido, desgarrado de sistemas frontais. Lá no Norte acontece com mais frequência talvez por ter mais massa de terra, enquanto aqui o cinturão de vento Oeste mantém tudo muito "preso".

Can I admit something to the timeline. This is the first time maybe ever that I’ve had no desire to make call of duty content.
