@shiri_shh Eventualities of this are 1) ‘sun sanctions’ when satellites block an entire nation’s sunlight 2) weaponized to deliver a deadly dose of sunlight to burn stuff

If the decision is made to continue this war, then Trump needs to reset. He needs to act more presidential by coming off more serious, cerebral and deliberate. He needs to layout his case to the American people and be transparent about what has gone right and wrong thus far.

I’m not opposed to adjustments to social security. Raise the age slightly is fine but you can’t do it to anyone who is already within 15-20 years of retirement…they made plans and participated in the system they were given…

@neoavatara Abolish the TSA, each airport should be responsible for this with guidelines set at the federal level. I could be talked out of the federal piece...

TSA PreCheck increases throughput, speeding up the process and shortening lines for everyone whether they have it or not. CLEAR arbitrarily prioritizes passengers who want to pay extra and does nothing to speed up the security process as a whole. It should be banned.

Just a reminder: TSA isn’t being funded because Republicans want to privatize it. It’s all in Project 2025.

@neoavatara That’s one thing I don’t understand, why would it take federal tax dollars? Why is the market for medical school/training so distorted?

This is how you solve that problem, FWIW: 1.Increase number of med school spots here. This will take a massive influx of federal tax dollars, but get it done. 2. Give more incentives to people to work in rural and urban areas, which is where FMGS are getting more residencies.
Brent A. Williams, MD@BrentAWilliams2

It is very interesting that when the MAGA crowd finds out that the US needs international medical graduates to fill MD jobs that American medical graduates do not want to do, they immediately flip from "all MDs are greedy pill pushers that make us sick", to "only Americans should be greedy pill pushers that make us sick".

@nhartman17 @BluebookBeede @randyroehrich PG/Usssa/NCS and others often have inning limits, not pitch count limits. It’s certainly that way in California and many tournaments put on by Triple Crown are the same way.

@BluebookBeede @randyroehrich Well sanctioned tourneys have pitching rules and are strictly enforced, by directors and coaches. Not sure what you are implying by “non existent”…

A 13-year-old throwing 46 pitches on Saturday and then coming back to throw 97 more on Sunday? No one has a "RUBBER ARM," regardless of what "adults" think! In March, in the Southwest, all under the banner of "travel ball fun"? That's not development. That's reckless. Any coach who green-lights that workload on a kid that age has no business leading young pitchers ever again, at any level. Period. We don't need another committee to debate guidelines or form a task force. We need immediate, real change: strict enforcement of sensible pitch limits, mandatory rest, and coaches who actually prioritize arm health over wins or showcase stats. I've seen too many promising athletes sidelined for life because adults put "exposure" ahead of their future. Enough. Protect these boys. Their arms aren't indestructible. @Pitchsafe_co @ArmoredHeat @bsblbluebook @TylerBeede @mtabor22

What if we cut six cents from every dollar the government spends? Not just the one-third Congress actually votes on. All of it. The budget balances in five years.

Saw one or two folks griping about this headline, pointing out that it's not true, because DHS workers eventually got paid for their work during the last shutdown and will eventually get paid for their work during this one. Okay, you go work without pay for 43 days in the fall and then get paid later, and follow it up for (at least) 34 days in the winter, and tell me how it feels for ya. DHS Employees Have Worked Unpaid for More Than Half the Current Fiscal Year nationalreview.com/corner/dhs-emp…

$200 BILLION IS ENOUGH TO: - Double the annual per‑person spending on K–12 education. - Expand the ACA tax credit for 7 years. - Provide up to 2 million people the SNAP benefits they need. - Provide a middle class tax break of $3,500. Instead, we will spend it on an illegal war. This is only the beginning. More money will be wasted. More lives will be lost.
