@cyb3rops This isnt a great take imo. If you don’t want to publish that’s fine it’s your choice. This community accepts that. what you are suggesting is that you wont share what you would’ve shared before. The only change is speed and access now. The asymmetry still exists as before

I’ve deliberately not published blog posts on useful detection ideas and rule-writing methods because I didn’t want LLMs to absorb them. So those ideas stayed private and were shared only with a small group. I doubt I’m the only one making that call. And that probably has consequences for the community over time - not just ours, but any community.

@chamath Yeah this was never the American dream. You idiots are so out of touch. Spare me your tears about being taxed on a million dollars. Get real

Here is what a tax like this does: 1) It excites people with zero agency and infinite envy. Beware of these people. 2) It will keep middle class people firmly in the middle class with no real chance of getting wealthy if they stay in Washington State. It should be clear that this IS the strategy. Learned helplessness of the electorate will keep Washington State’s current elected officials in office. 3) It will never allow the upwardly mobile of building any assets or real wealth unless they move. Capping the American Dream is a dystopian and malevolent scheme. It cannot be a valid strategy. But unless droves of middle and upper middle class people leave Washington State, this strategy will win.
Autism Capital 🧩@AutismCapital

🚨BREAKING: Washington State passes their first ever income tax. Incomes over $1M/year will be taxed at 9.9%. Married couples share A SINGLE $1M exemption, so if combined incomes are more than $1M, you're getting taxed. This will obviously eventually extend beyond millionaires. What comes for others, will eventually come for you! RIP Washington state!

@0xTib3rius Same, I’ve had a difficult time not letting my emotions get the best of me with how people are handling this. I’m very grateful I don’t suffer from that level of tics but people do not understand how you have no control how they manifest. I only hope this helps awareness.

As a fellow person with Tourette's Syndrome it's a little disheartening to see people continue to demand for a direct apology from John. Firstly because he doesn't owe the general public an apology for his condition, secondly because we don't know if he reached out privately to the presenters afterwards (or if they even want him to), and finally because the BBC are more at fault here for leaving the tics in the broadcast when it was pre-recorded and they could have easily edited it out (as they apparently did with a pro-palestine speech).
Variety@Variety

"I Swear" subject John Davidson, who has Tourette's syndrome and shouted the N-word at the BAFTAs while Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were presenting, speaks out amid controversy: “I wanted to thank BAFTA and everyone involved in the awards last night for their support and understanding and inviting me to attend the broadcast. I appreciated the announcement to the auditorium in advance of the recording, warning everyone that my tics are involuntary and are not a reflection of my personal beliefs. I was heartened by the round of applause that followed this announcement and felt welcomed and understood in an environment that would normally be impossible for me. In addition to the announcement by Alan Cumming, the BBC and BAFTA, I can only add that I am, and always have been deeply mortified if anyone considers my involuntary tics to be intentional or to carry any meaning... I have spent my life trying to support and empower the Tourette’s community and to teach empathy, kindness and understanding from others and I will continue to do so. I chose to leave the auditorium early into the ceremony as I was aware of the distress my tics were causing.” variety.com/2026/film/awar…

No member of Congress should *ever* refer to our country as the “U.S. G*ddamn States” What should be the consequence of saying that?
Rapid Response 47@RapidResponse47

.@IlhanMN refers to our great country as the "U.S. G*ddamn States." There is no circumstance in which she should refer to our country in this way. It is beyond disrespectful — it is appalling, disgusting, and SICK. SHAME ON HER!

@elonmusk This is a made up nonsensical thing that you love to push. I have met exactly zero people rooting for immigrants for votes. It’s a lie and I’m sick of the gaslighting people do to turn it into an issue. It’s so far outside of the scope of issues right now it’s embarrassing

@elonmusk @elonmusk the fact that you can’t see that this is Americans fighting for a different America than you like; and you call for this? I hope this resolves. It won’t end well for you

@chamath You all dug your own hole. You either funded vapor or you were complicit in selling it to VC. It’s not everyone else’s fault. Consequences and whatnot.

You all use Uber, DoorDash and every other tech innovation made here but now you want the creators of these services to go bankrupt doing it?? That math doesn’t math. Everyone that is potentially touched by this will now leave and all that will result is a massive hole in California’s finances that you will be forced to fill. “Come Election Day, if this proposition lands on the ballot and succeeds as written, founders throughout the industry who haven’t already left California will not only be forced to sell control of their companies, many could go bankrupt. (Yes, literally).”
Mike Solana@micsolana

The architects of California’s “Billionaire Wealth Tax” ballot proposition quietly amended language in their proposal which, if successful, would permanently end the concept of founder-controlled startups in the state — a technology industry kill switch. piratewires.com/p/californias-…

A crash cart is what we use when someone’s dying, it holds the defibrillator and emergency drugs and airway devices for cardiac arrest. Think about this: I’ve seen hospitals tell terrified staff, “We’ll have the crash cart ready, just in case,” before forcing the Covid shot. It’s truly simple, if a “vaccine” needs a crash cart, it’s not safe… God bless

@_xpn_ Exactly. They lost control of the situation when they went after her to get her out of the car. They weren’t in the process of enforcing an immigration issue at the time. They could have gotten local police involved to have her move or even arrested for blocking traffic.

@EVNFT Ask them why it matters more than other political violence aside from its freshness. This is tragic and wrong but the treatment is different. Why? Leaders in Minnesota were killed for political reasons. Push the conspiracy theories aside.

@Notofworks7 Hate the structures and institutions that bring people to this. No sane person wants this, the world is programming people to hate indiscriminately. Constant politicizing and “war on <insert thing here>” talk is toxic. Everyone suddenly forgot how to treat others with respect.
