@stendec6 @RichardWellings Richard claims you need to take into account insurance… as a tax… a tax towards the roads…. Yep… that’s the level of journalism we’re dealing with here.

@RichardWellings The charges that motorists pay don't cover the costs. And they don't even keep pace with general inflation either, let alone the inflation of public transport.

Motorists pay massive taxes to use the roads, but they're increasingly being banned from significant parts of the network. The policy is now spreading to rural areas, where cars are essential, as part of the power elite's plan to restrict travel. itv.com/news/meridian/…

@RichardWellings We all pay taxes that contribute to the road network. As you know? Significant parts? More lies from Richard.

@guidoacasa For example, the resulting economic damage from reduced labour mobility, leading to fewer resources for healthcare. Also, switching to more dangerous modes like motorbikes, or driving smaller cars in response to a lower benefit-cost ratio.

@n00dles71 You seem to be forgetting about motor insurance premiums. Moreover, that £55billion figure is debatable.

Motorists pay vast amounts of tax to use the roads but are increasingly banned from significant parts of the network, while cyclists and heavily subsidised buses are allowed through. Typical socialism, where those paying the most get the least in return. cambridge-news.co.uk/news/news-opin…

@RichardWellings Surely broader access to cars is the only thing that allows mobility, in your eyes?

The "power elite" are planning to impose a big reduction in car ownership, forcing people to use inconvenient "car sharing" or public transport instead. Many will decide to travel far less and stay in their 15-minute cities, which is also part of the plan. theguardian.com/environment/20…

@RichardWellings Nonsense Richard. No one is forcing people to walk or cycle, and such schemes only promote the choice you seem desperate to suppress.

It's disgusting if taxpayers' money is being used to fund political propaganda like this. People should be free to decide for themselves, without being subjected to state "re-education" campaigns. Cars are often the most efficient option for short trips.

Ready to change the way you travel around Nottingham this May? 🚴 The Big Nottingham Travel Challenge is all about swapping short car trips for healthier, greener options like walking, cycling, and taking public transport.

This the crash on Wandsworth Bridge Road. It’s at 7.30 pm so not late night and the driver isn’t speeding or out of control. He makes a mistake probably because he doesn’t expect parklets to be in the middle of the road. Vehicles have hit these objects over and over again.

How convenient that the fuel crisis is allowing the "power elite" to accelerate their long-planned climate lockdowns agenda. In due course it will force people to change their diets too - another goal - as the cost of food goes through the roof. independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-n…

Morning Phil. I have tracked your obsession with our club and money over the last few years closely. As a gesture of goodwill to your ongoing support - I have left a ticket behind the turnstile for you today. Presume as a man who is so devoted to financial protocol at clubs, you’d be the first to take advantage of a cheap day out in the sunshine ☀️ You can pass on your thanks to our media team in person.

@wclifton968 Yes, denationalisation of the roads is a great idea. For practical reasons, local roads would tend to be under some form of community ownership.
