Newcastle United have identified Burnley’s winger Jaidon Anthony as their primary target to replace Anthony Gordon, according to a report from SportsBoom.
As Gordon continues to push for a high-profile exit this summer, Newcastle are reportedly ready to commit a significant transfer fund to secure Anthony, who is valued in the region of €30-35 million.
The Hale End Academy graduate has been a revelation in the Premier League this season despite Burnley’s overall struggles. Anthony recently notched his eighth goal of the campaign during a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, marking a consistent run of form that has also seen him score against heavyweights including Manchester City and Manchester United. While he currently has three years remaining on his contract at Turf Moor, Newcastle’s interest appears to be the most concrete following earlier inquiries from Everton, Fulham, and Leeds.
With several first-team attackers linked with departures, Newcastle are said to be keen to wrap up a deal for Anthony quickly to avoid a bidding war. For Burnley, the sale would provide a vital injection of funds to help manage Profit and Sustainability Rules following their relegation from the top flight.

@Im_RobM Makes me laugh this quote how can it be uncharacteristic when you use the word again for it happening multiple times
English

@Konceeda @totalBarca @iamStartommy @gerardromero I mean let’s just forget the 150m you guys owe in transfers and the 2.5 billion debt you have. That’s why you struggle to register players every season
English

@MattNufc9 @totalBarca @iamStartommy @gerardromero Lol. I love how all the entire opps believed Barca doesn't have money. It makes our work easier
I mean, just few years ago, Clubs were slapping price tag of €90m - €140m whenever Barcelona showed interest. But now, we get players at giveaway prices. This is a big win for us
English

🚨🚨 Newcastle directors stormed out of a meeting with Barça officials last evening in Barcelona
The British directors revealed that they valued Anthony Gordon at €80m and the room erupted into laughter
Barça thought they were joking
They were not.
😬
@gerardromero
English

@Konceeda @totalBarca @iamStartommy @gerardromero Let’s be honest NUFC wouldn’t want to deal with Barca as they have zero money and don’t pay their debts anyway
English

@MattNufc9 @totalBarca @iamStartommy @gerardromero Gordon isn't worth €80m tho. I mean Man City paid about €100m to get both Ryan Cherki and Halaand.
But they want to slap €80m on Gordon. I love how Barcelona representative laughed at their foolishness 🤣
Now, we look elsewhere!!
English

@Konceeda @totalBarca @iamStartommy @gerardromero I mean let’s ignore the nearly 20 years time difference obviously
English

@totalBarca @iamStartommy @gerardromero €80m is exactly what Real Madrid paid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo for a club record fee then.
Now, they are mounting unrealistic price tags on anybody. E reach to laugh shaah 😂

⏳ Eddie Howe waited SEVEN seconds before answering the question... "You spoke yesterday about your fire being as strong as ever. Do the players have the same fire inside them still?"
🗣️ "Yeah. I’m hesitating because I’m speaking on behalf of other people, and that’s very difficult to do. I believe they do. From what I see in the training ground I don’t see any sense of poor attitude or poor commitment to their work.
🗣️ “Of course we all need to give more. The players need to give more and I need to give more to turn the results around"

English

@CraigHope_DM Nobody is surprised at all though let’s be honest we really are a poor team
English

Time for livramento to be dropped, he’s a shadow of himself he really is, such poor awareness again #NUFC
English

@TransferNews £50-£55m when we paid about £42m for him ok right 👍🏽
English

@5liveSport @BBCSounds Ah the Qatari stuge who’s never said anything positive ever about this deal
English

After selling their stake in Al-Hilal and with the future of LIV Golf uncertain...
Will Saudi Arabia's PIF sell their stake in Newcastle United? ⚫️⚪️

English

@Sukki1975 @LittleHenryD I still think there would be leverage from PIF to make sure there wasn’t a loss
English

@MattNufc9 @LittleHenryD I doubt they would take a loss. It creates problems in following seasons
English

Does that mean once they've sold all shares in that club we can sell players to them and it will count towards SCR/PSR/FFP wIth uefa and PL?
Lee Ryder@lee_ryder
PIF have now confirmed sale of 70% stake of f Al-Hilal to HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud #nufc
English

@LittleHenryD I think so. Didn't CP try to do a similar thing but they failed to complete by the required deadline?
So...which if our current stars (squad) are going to Saudi?
1st one I think may be Joelinton, maybe Krafth and perhaps Osula.
English

@dan2882 @TaylorandPayne But that’s hindsight (like most things) people could have said the same about getting rid of Bruce as he’d kept us up the previous 2 seasons. The club isn’t down to one individual, it needs to be based on results and performances and both over the last 13 months have been poor
English

@TaylorandPayne @MattNufc9 We replaced Robson with Souness cause we thought a ‘change was needed’. We never learn at NUFC
English

And then when he has a bad season, regardless of what he's achieved, we demand he gets the sack and hound him out of a job. That's sounds about right doesn't it? #NUFC
Joe Thomlinson@joethomlinson
If Eddie Howe leaves Newcastle, the club should move heaven and earth for Andoni Iraola. Front foot agressive style suits them perfectly, huge potential, gets the best out of every player he works with, constantly punching above his weight... and free.
English

@TaylorandPayne But as you can say it can go the other way and he could drag us into a relegation fight. It worries me how much control he had transfer wise based on the recruitment last summer. The in game management is also questionable and players look lost and passive that comes from EH IMO
English

@MattNufc9 It's a gamble either way and at this point I'd prefer it if we gave Eddie another window and pre season to try and rebuild. I agree it's been poor this season, but I'm also really wary of getting it wrong the next time. Just look at Spurs.
English

@Jeep_1970 This is the thing though questions that need to be asked include:-
Are the players going to get on board?
Does EH have another plan? Can he adapt?
It would cost less to get rid of EH and change approach, in terms of recruitment it’s been horrendous so it’s doubled down on EH
English

@MattNufc9 I think the players don't like the high intensity pressing...
Had enough.
But we don't have many players who can skillfully beat a player.
English

If the club are going to stick by EH then the playing staff need a full overhaul because his message isn’t getting through anymore and the players look either tired or lazy. 3 weeks to prepare for this game and the performance is no better so something huge needs to change #NUFC
English

🚨Luke Edwards reporting -
Newcastle have reportedly set fees for Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon & Tino Livramento.
The club would demand at least £100m each for Tonali and Gordon, while Livramento will cost at least £60m.
Newcastle CEO David Hopkinson has said players will only leave on the clubs terms this summer. #NUFC
Are these fees what you'd expect for these players?
