@AngelaRayner Unfortunately, what isn't being mentioned is Reforms number one (and many would say only well known policy) is immigration and until something is done about that, labours fortunes won't change.
Our party has suffered a historic defeat.
Many good Labour colleagues have lost their seats despite working hard for those they represented. We have lost good Labour administrations and lost the chance for more.
What we are doing isn’t working, and it needs to change. This may be our last chance.
The Labour Party must now live up to our name: we must be the party of working people.
We’ve heard the same on the doorstep as we’ve seen in the polls - the cost of living is the top issue for voters of all parties. People have turned to populists and nationalists because we have not done enough to fix it.
Living standards are barely higher than they were a decade and a half ago. People feel hopeless - that the cost of living crisis will never end, and now they see oil and gas companies use global instability to post record profits.
Once again, ordinary people are paying the price for decisions they didn’t make. It’s no wonder that across the UK, working people feel the system is rigged against them.
Things can be so much better than this. Countries including Spain and Canada have shown that economies can grow and people can thrive when governments stay true to labour and social democratic values and put people first. We need to learn from that.
In London, we lost young people who fear they will never afford a home. In my patch and across the north, we lost working people whose wages are too low and costs too high. In Scotland and Wales, people do not currently see Labour as the answer.
We are in danger of becoming a party of the well-off, not working people.
The Peter Mandelson scandal showed a toxic culture of cronyism.
Decisions like cutting winter fuel allowance just weren’t what people expected from a Labour government.
For too long, successive governments have allowed wealth and power to concentrate at the top without a plan to ensure the benefits of economic growth are shared fairly. The result is an economy that does not work for the majority, with wealth concentrated in too few hands. This level of inequality, alongside squeezed living standards, is the outcome of a model built on deregulation, privatisation, and trickle-down economics.
But we have the chance to fix this.

@euanevans1110@DennisCromptom@indieimmy@AngelaRayner Go on his profile. You reform wankers are going to drag this country into a really unpleasant place and will destroy the union. You care only about immigration
You can’t trust Reform UK with our NHS.
Nigel Farage would make working people like you pay the price to access the healthcare you and your family need.
Vote Labour May 7 to protect the NHS – and make sure it’s there for all of us. 🌹
@BennyH391512@DennisCromptom@indieimmy@AngelaRayner So how do you decide who goes? Let's just pretend you don't just want the black and brown people gone. If someone's dad came here from Poland in the 80s, is that British enough? What about someone who's grandad is from Iran and theyre born here? Anyway, It's not happening.
@Goosey30111568 They did not try to cancel elections, only delay them in areas which were being combined/boundaries changed, which happened last in 2021. If you believe Reform are anything other than a rebranding of the Tories, you're just stupid. Look at who funds them and their MPs.
When you vote tomorrow.
Just remember.
Labour wanted to cancel elections.
Tories went along with it.
ReformUK went to court and defeated the Gov't.
You wouldn't have a vote tomorrow if it wasn't for ReformUK.
Vote Reform tomorrow.
Crush the UniParty.
@questy123@DennisCromptom@indieimmy@AngelaRayner You love someone you don't know being taunted with the prospect of being deported? That's pretty shitty. Reform are not your friends, they're using the issue of immigration to distract from the absolute disaster they'd be for normal people.
@WhiteSuit226490@lightoffrance@Nigel_Farage They haven't said they are keeping it a free at the point of use service. They are bought and paid for by rich donors and corps. The issue of immigration is being used as a smoke screen and they will govern for those who funded them. Open your eyes, they aren't your friends.
@lightoffrance@Nigel_Farage If they were genuinely going to keep the NHS free at the point of use service, they'd have made it absolutely clear. They haven't. They are going to abolish it. Immigration is the smokescreen, they will erode your rights and benefit only the ultra rich. Look at who funds them.
@Nigel_Farage Nigel you haven’t addressed the issue of what you said about the NHS?
I need to know that it’s not going to be an insurance based system under REFORM ?
@paulabearthe2nd@pwsimerimiaw So you've made a factually inaccurate post, probably deliberately, someone replied giving the facts and your response is to insult them.
Can we just stop saying that Boris partied while people died.
Boris received some birthday cake in a meeting room with 3 other people who he worked with daily.
That is NOT A PARTY and quite frankly, I am sick of hearing this crap.
@jjennfferr@piersmorgan You just can't accept he's a vile , corrupt narcissist liar and you have to pretend there's some worldwide conspiracy. How about he's getting some comeuppance for what an evil piece of shit he is?
@piersmorgan Fck you. Stay on that failing island of yours and stop labeling our President and propping up the violent hate speech on your show.
Pieces of 💩 trying to act like they care all of a sudden.
Appalling scenes from White House Correspondents dinner after shooter opened fire outside the main ballroom.
President Trump is thankfully reported safe. But this is another shocking incident involving his security - how did shooter get this close on such a high-profile night?
“Genuine question…
If someone is claiming benefits and is able to work, is it really unreasonable to ask them to do a few hours a week helping the community?
Even something simple like litter picking or cleaning up local parks.”
What are your Thoughts?
@MattParr18@therealkyo198m@thefinalcoinsol@BladeoftheS Surprise surprise another Labour predator trying to downplay Labours Pakistani rape gangs.
Labour absolutely did protect them for decades and allowed them to operate in Labour controlled areas with impunity. Thats why they are known as Labours Pakistani rape gangs
Nigel Farage earns over a million pounds a year.
Still claims £160,900 in expenses (benefits)
Moans about people abusing benefits.
But not himself, of course.
@maximus06306658@clairebubblepop Starmer didn't party, that was disproven thoroughly.
I'm on benefits due to ill health, the only increase I've had is in line with inflation. Its vile seeing the endless lies about welfare, as if everyone gets loads of money. It's not like that.
@clairebubblepop Umm, yes. Labour was also caught partying while Covid was going on, which, by the way, was a scam.
He has also broken nearly every promise known to man. He promised throughout his campaign that he wouldn't raise taxes🤣🤣🤣
You're all right, though. He's raised your benefits.
You know people can hate Starmer but did he laugh in your face by giving his mates £Bs in Covid contracts? Did he laugh in your face by partying when our loved ones died alone? Tories saw their tenure as a cash grab and destroyed this country with 14 YEARS of austerity… FOR WHAT
@GeedZeroOne@clairebubblepop He didn't 'let' anyone rape anyone. He wasn't even Labour leader, let alone PM. He headed the CPS and they sent loads of rapists to prison. What sovereignity did he give away? None. Brexit was a disaster, it cost us dearly. the public majority agree. it's time to move on. 0/3.
@clairebubblepop He did more! he spat on our faces as he let foreign apes rape our children and tried to give away our sovereignty whilst going against our democratic vote to realign us with the EU! He’s a TRAITOR!!!!!
@Philj77@clairebubblepop@TenTinyTweets Why do some keep trying to question his sexuality? Making up stories about Ukrainian rent boys with no basis. It's weird. They investigated the lord Ali thing and he wasn't found to have broken the rules.
Yes he did party. He party’d in Bristol.
He went flat hopping to see his friend (lover?) Lord Ali. He sent his son out against the rules to use Lord Ali’s flat.
You don’t remember these things because the MSM never reminds you of them.
Just about the sins of the center parties.
@Philj77@clairebubblepop@TenTinyTweets That isn't true. He didn't "party", if you're referencing what I think you are, it was proved to be work related and they obeyed the social distancing. The Tories desperately tried to find Labour breaking COVID rules during partygate and that's the best they could find.
50% of what you pay for petrol is just tax for Rachel Reeves.
She could halve VAT and help you out while prices are so high.
Instead, she’s wasting your money on a record benefits bill.
@sophielouisecc . "A bit of birthday cake". No, he breached the rules everyone else was following, meaning they couldn't see their families, even when that meant missing funerals and not being able to say goodbye, you lying cow. He also protected a known sex pest. Why are you lying?
Boris was forced out of the commons by a kangaroo court over a bit of birthday cake
Not only should Starmer be removed as PM
He should be removed from the commons entirely
@ramonagusta@KemiBadenoch You don't understand how our country works if you think that's how it's done. The king only acts on advice from the government. If he acted off his own back, the monarchy would be seen as political and would have to go. It simply doesn't work that way
The Prime Minister appointed Peter Mandelson before the vetting had been completed, vetting Mandelson failed.
Starmer then said full due process was followed. THAT is misleading Parliament.
I'm only holding him to the same standards to which he’s held previous Prime Ministers - that if they mislead parliament, they should resign.
In these dangerous times, Britain cannot afford to have a Prime Minister who the country doesn't trust. Starmer has betrayed our national security. He should go.
@StreuthItsRuth And in the 1870s, people worked in workhouses for gruel, sure some died of preventable diseases, but they just got on with it!. Life is better now than it has ever been, done forget it. We shouldn't look back with rose tinted glasses at a flawed past and pretend it was perfect
Free breakfasts and free school meals.
We didn’t need them in the 70’s -80’s.
We fed our kids. How?
Both parents did not have phones.
No Streaming services.
No fancy nails.
No expensive tattoos.
Made a difference back then. Life was simple.
