The data says the Rockies have been thinking about Coors Field pitching the wrong way. Sinkers aren’t the answer. Breaking balls are.
From 2021–2025, sliders, sweepers and curveballs outperform fastballs at altitude.

@OakTreeStatus Yeah, that’s true. It’s more a criticism of People On Here taking these signings as evidence that the FO has some coherent idea of what “works.”
And purely as a fan, I’d rather watch McCade Brown struggle and maybe figure something out than watch Jeremy Guthrie 2.0

@MattPatston I'm right there with you but spamming one-year contracts to precede what will clearly be a non-competitive year is fine. None of these guys are being signed to be a part of future infrastructure. It's slapping duct tape on a dam breach until we learn how to engineer.

Everyone seems to be tripping over themselves to praise the new front office, but idk that running back the “sign as many pitch-to-contact starters as possible” strategy is smart and it’s certainly not some bold new strategy for success at Coors
