Pokémon Winds and Waves originally were planned to include lots of MMO-like features. The hotel lobby worked as like a pseudo MMO lobby with lots of players and raids were also planned to be scaled to many players. A lot of those concepts were scrapped as the game just got too ambitious and now Game Freak is developing a separate multi-region MMORPG to use them.

To give more context of the feature: - It’s basically Synchro Machine 2.0 - You can sync with most if not all Pokémon - There’s actually a leash between you and your Pokémon - Game Freak initially wanted for every Pokémon to be rideable but ended up scrapping the feature and this is the replacement
