Single dad. Cars, animals, drive an Isuzu DMax while smoking and shouting down a phone for a living (according to my son). Penchant for women of unstable nature

Car people love to make a big deal out of this, but seriously the only reason cars ever had manual transmissions was because of the severe limitations of internal combustion engines.

@MattTakeThree @Moneypenny0072 That reminds me must fit a new fuel flap lock solenoid to the Volvo. It sometimes carries twice its value in diesel (at current prices)

Same. I got to the stage with that xc90 we had where it kept me awake at night with some random problem or other. With the Porsche I was always worried about someone damaging it or something major going wrong. At some point fancy cars start to own you and cause more stress than they are worth. Nice to have had them. No regrets however more important things in life to focus on.

Apropos of a mild midlife crisis and new manager suggests that I may wish to look less 🥧 🗝️... Is 38 too young to wear chinos? Asking for a theoretical friend, who seems to be spending a lot of time in corporate offices of late.

Driving sheds is actually refreshing. No need to visit main dealers. Fix in the garage yourself. No payments. Don’t care if the toddler scratches the seats. Don’t worry where it’s parked etc. It’s absolutely fine as child transport. Have 2 others too but this one does the bulk of the work now and the little Saxo is just a toy.

@MattTakeThree I work in an office as parts manager for a forklift company. 90% desk job 10% dealing with parts/ checking stuff in workshop, so always dark clothes. Mainly black jeans, navy company polo and sweatshirt in winter. I do go for thinner trousers in summer.

@MattTakeThree @houghtonc79 Can't go wrong with M&S ones. Although I tried the most expensive ones on first and nearly got put off. Tried the midrange offering and they fit much better. I've got pretty big cyclist's legs so fit is sometimes tricky.
