You can lease a car for as little as £200 a month. Almost nothing goes wrong with a new car and even if it does you aren’t liable to pay for it. Older cars can cost a fortune to repair and maintain. Lease requires one service per year (around £150).

Unpopular opinion: Leasing a brand new car is the most financially illiterate thing normalised in the UK. You're paying £500/month for something that loses 40% of its value by the time you hand it back. Then you sign up for another one. A £5,000 used car does the exact same job. Gets you from A to B. @HullTeslaModel3 Have you fully worked out your usage? Utilise platforms such as ChatGPT. I did and I’d have ben paying more on an EV tariff than on my current 24 hour tariff of 19p KWh, by some margin too.

That's £5,400 a year just to sit in traffic and wave at the bloke in the £2k Honda doing the exact same commute. Same school run. Same Tesco car park. Same journey home. The only difference is he's not lying awake in January dreading the insurance renewal.

People on a £32k salary will happily lock themselves into a £500/month contract for a Mercedes they will never actually own, just to sit in gridlocked traffic on the M25 and try to impress people in the lane next to them. Then they get to the office and complain that taxes are too high and the government is holding the working class down. If you put that £500 a month into an S&P 500 ISA instead of a rented German car, you'd be a millionaire by retirement. Stop blaming the Prime Minister for your own terrible capital allocation. Your car isn't an asset. It's an anchor.

Viktor Gyokeres still gets questioned, even though he’s now got 12 PL goals in 30 games this season (18 all comps) while adapting to a new team, and Arsenal players adapting to him. And against a good Bournemouth defence today.
Still gets questioned even though his character not in question: never hides, never stops showing for the ball, also looking to run in behind. Takes responsibility, and those penalties of his are hard, fast, well-placed and rarely stoppable (4/43). Gyokeres has occasional quiet games, but never lacks effort. Arsenal need to look to get him in behind more. #ARSBOU

@andyturner @TeslaJigsaw If your charging at home - even at 23p KWh (not an EV Tariff) it’s much much better than Petrol/Diesel.
If you get yourself on to an EV tariff the savings are even bigger when your charging off peak at 5p

@TeslaJigsaw 8000 miles a year isn’t much is it? If you’re only driving that, Grok calculates an average family car would only consume £60/month in petrol. Insurance would be higher for most. Unless you can leverage some kind of tax deduction it’s not clear cut.
