Yet here he is amplifying a post that literally admits, “I don’t know if these are facts or rumors.” He is helping spread unverified information. Local authorities and one of Nolan Wells’ own friends have since stated this photo was actually taken at a June 27 gathering in Pass Christian, Mississippi, not during the weekend Nolan disappeared. This is exactly how false narratives are created. Someone posts a rumor. A high-profile figure repeats it. Millions of people (who think Crump has any credibility) assume it has been vetted simply because of who shared it. Before long, complete strangers are being tried and convicted on social media over information that may have nothing to do with the case. That’s not how investigations work. That’s not how responsible journalism works. And frankly, it’s not how attorneys should conduct themselves, either. If you genuinely care about finding out what happened to Nolan Wells, then stop treating every viral rumor like it’s a clue. Wait for tangible evidence and facts. He says that no one in the group harmed Nolan, that the viral video circulating online which many people believed showed Nolan in a confrontation actually does not show Nolan at all, but instead shows Shepherd himself during a separate incident, and he urged people not to rush to judgment while the investigation continues. So far, everything you have seen about Nolan on the internet has been nothing but noise. There is no suspicion of foul play by authorities. I will address this “protest” held a few days ago. These men are the Black Hebrew Israelites. They are black supremacists, anti-Semitic, anti-LGBTQ+, and anti-white. They believe that black people are the chosen people and that only they will inherit the kingdom of heaven. They reject traditional Judaism and Christianity, claiming that modern-day Jewish people are “imposters,” and members and factions associated with the movement have, at times, been linked to high-profile violent hate crimes. This is who is marching for Nolan. This is the protest that Nolan Wells’ mother asked to “stay peaceful.”
