Tech companies pay millions of dollars for their employees and then stick them in open-plan offices that make it nearly impossible to get work done. Best strategy for poaching employees is probably to just offer them an office with a door.

going to strengthen this statement and say that if you are smart and don't meditate you are limiting your intelligence and overall ability to see things clearly, in part because your mind is filled with garbage data and zombie background processes you've never even noticed

insane how bad people who haven't meditated are at philosophy of mind. most people who have meditated are also bad at it but the people who are actually good have meditated or done something to similar effect (e.g. psychedelics appropriately infrequently and at reasonable doses)

We used Kafka + Flink + ScyllaDB for a project that emitted 1 record every 5 minutes instead of Spring + Postgres
Why? so we could flex our "realtime data stack" and get promoted faster
It worked.
